the 12 Month Journey: Movies, Games and Shows I look forward to in 2024

Well hello to all of you wonderful people in the interwebs and readers of the weird mind of mine. Yes I am back again with a similar post like last year where I will be given an in depth look to some of the content that is coming out this year and giving a look into what I am looking forward to checking out over these next 12 months of the medium of entertainment with some of these getting videos from me from the mention of my weekly News room pieces, Reviews when I watch and give my thought and some where I may give a longer video form to them if they are longer or I want to give a much better in depth analysis to them. So I am going to split them up into 3 sections and some will be longer or shorter then others but lets not waste too much time and lets get to seeing what is out in 2024 that may have peaked my interest.

Movies of the Big and small screen

Now this is the case where this section will probably have the most I can think of for the moment with releases compared to the other 2. Now it could be the case that some of these were 2023 films for some in the us (Mainly some from January and one or 2 from Feb) but that what you get from some film distribution now and again. Now some of these will be changed and some may not release in 2024 and a lot of films may update with releases but this will go with the ones that have some confirmation for the moment.

January

poor things (Jan 12th)

So starting off the films for the year, one of them that I initially would pass over before the much more popular word of mouth came along was the movie of Poor things, but then learning from some of the people that I follow and follow me on social say that it is a really good film and the awards have been very strong for this one as well. Essentially this is a period piece of a woman that is brought back to life who game ended herself and who has the mind of an infant will learn of many things in life from knowledge, life experience and even sexual pleasures. Most case its mainly for the excellent performance of Emma Stone and some as well for Mark Ruffalo and Willem Dafoe and I will probably give this a watch while on the build up to the award season.

Beekeeper (Jan 12th)

Now in terms of the first popcorn action flick is with the always ruggish Jason Statham who has a new film known as the Beekeeper which see's him going on a revenge quest against greedy companies who are known for scamming people into taking their money and funds (essentially a massive situation tht has become more prominent in recent year and mainly known for being location in India or eastern Asia) and to avenge the death of his caring elderly neighbour who took her own life from it and will use his government tactical skills to take them down. Now this is a film made by David Ayer, known for his great war film of Fury and for the film that was butchered by the studio of Suicide Squad (until the eventual release of his better cut for the film) and I have heard some good stuff about it and will probably give it a watch when I can if I am interested in checking it out.

Mean Girls (Jan 17th)

Get in Loser we got a remake to do as coming out 20 years after the original cult classic, the popular teen comedy Mean Girls has gotten an all new update in the form of Mean Girls 2024 with a new modern setting. Now its the same plot, new girl becomes part of a bitchy group known as the Plastics led by Regina who has power over the school in popularity and will soon lead to tearing it down from the inside. Now this is written and starring one of the original cast of Tina Fey as well as Tim Meadows and so far has gotten some decently recieved reception. Also to remind that this is based more on the Musical of this film that only really started a couple of years ago. Now myself I can take or leave this as while I have heard decent reception from critics, I would prefer the original anyway as it was more timeless but who knows.

All of us Strangers (Jan 26th)

Another film with a potential of award season is with another film starring an rising Irish star with all of us Strangers that sees Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott become infatuated with one another in this romantic fantasy film that is all about finding themselves while dealing with things from the past. Now this one has been garnering some unanimous praise and seems like a wholesome love story that I am sure will be a decent recommendation to check out before the end of Awards season

The Colour Purple (Jan 26th)

And the last of the films from this month that also released from last year is a retelling of a classic film from Spielberg with a new Musical mix with this adaptation of the colour Purple. The plot sees a tale of a woman torn away from her family and children, married into an abusive relationship who will soon find herself and true power and strength through the building sisterhood with sultry Singer of Shug Avery and her stand-her ground Stepdaughter. Now this is one of those slightly dark story with a feel good hopeful outcome that is well worth a watch and to look out for in this upcoming awards season.

February

Argylle (Feb 2nd)

Now we start the month of February films with the newest Spy caper from director of Matthew Vaughan, who already had a hand in some spy films with the continuing series of Kingsman and back with a new film of Argylle. This follows the character of Elly Conway, a reclusive Author of a bestselling series of espionage novels about a spy named Argylle and ends up being tangled into a high stakes espionage journey when her books turn out to be real and are also very closely accurate to how the missions played out in real life. Now I do like this idea of a spy film where an authors work turns out to be real and scarily accurate that is unbeknowst to them and I am hoping this will turn out good and then even tie it into the ongoing Kingsman series but I am sure we'll find out when the film drops in February.

Migration (Feb 2nd)
So the first of the animated films of this year and the 2nd last film that released last year in the US is starting off with coming from Illumination that is flying high with the movie of Migration. This story follows a family of Mallards who decide to leave the safety and comfort of their home in  a pond in the woods and decide to take the journey of a lifetime to Jamaica and to get their they must survive the absolute chaos of New York. Now I have heard some decent reception of the film that while its not the most original or standout, its not too inoffensive and is helped from its visuals, simple story and cast and I am sure will be a decent watch for the whole family.

Orion and the Dark (Feb 2th)

And now on the first of the known films released for streaming is taking us to a new release from the Animation studio of Dreamworks who is giving their take on the popular childrens book of Orion and the Dark. This tells the tale of Orion, a young kid who has the fear of essentially everything and especially of the dark, so when the embodiment of the Dark appears to him and takes him on a journey, he makes it a goal with the help of his friends will try and make Orion not afraid of anything while dealing with Dark's arch enemy of Daylight. Now it does look like a harmless tale and can be something fun with a good message and I like that it is keeping it close to the style of the original book and I sure it will be worth a watch on Netflix.

The Iron Claw (Feb 9th)

And on the last of the films that released last year is the first one coming to us from A24 with a new biopic about the tragic tale of the Von Erich family with the movie of the Iron Claw. This will follow their trials and tribulations that led them to becoming the world famous wrestling family and the tragedy and hardships of the family dynamic that followed. Now this is mainly following the sole remaining brother of the family who is being played by a strong performance from Zac Efron and it seemed to have some decent reception and is probably worth a watch when it releases in the early half of February.

Madame Web (Feb 14th)

Now for the first of the Superhero movies to come out of this year and it is not an MCU film (well technically counts as it but the canonicity is questionable) or the DCU but it is one from the Sony Spider-man universe, just without Spider-man but this one is somewhat close as it is the closest to a hero and that is with the new character of Madame Web. This is following the character of Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in New York who becomes connected with a clairvoyant connection that lets her see into the future and must use these powers to help protect the lives of 3 young women with powerful futures while keeping one step ahead of a mercenary dressed in the design similar to a certain walllcrawler. Now I am a little mixed on the film as I am a little with the Sony Spidey films that I enjoyed the Venom movies, Love the hell out of the Spider-verse films and then we have Morbius.... you already know about that movie. And this one while I like the concept and the character in the comics is interesting as well I do hope that this will be good or watchable and not a bit of a mess, but it could be something to watch when it comes out on Valentines day of all days.

Bob Marley One Love (Feb 14th)

And the last film from this month is with another new biopic and this is focusing more on a musical side of things with the new film based on Jamaican superstar Bob Marley with One Love. Now this will follow his career spanning the decades to the One Love Concert that would try to help bring peace to his country that is in the grips of conflict tensions. Now I think this looks like a decent time at the movies and the main lead of Ben Kingsley Adir seems to have the look and feel down of the famous musician and I am sure it will be worth a look when it comes out as well on Valentines day.

March

Dune Part 2 (March 1st)

Now for the first of the films that was planned for last year but got delayed into 2024, we are returning to the massive Sand Planet and following the continuing story of Paul Artredis with Part 2 of Dune. Now this will see him and his mother Lady Jessica team up with the Freman and Chani and fight back against those that destroyed his family and also find a way to do so without causing a devastating future that only he can forsee. Now I remember watching the first part back when it came out in cinemas and while I thought it was visualing stunning, it is a lot to take in for a single film with its plot and lore and worldbuilding all at once but I still found some entertainment from it all and hopefully this will bring some great storytelling and some excellent action set piece when this drops on March 1st.

Lisa Frankenstein (March 1st)

If Sci-fi epics are not your thing and want more of a romance with a horror twist then I would suggest the new Horror Romantic comedy of Lisa Frankenstein. This will follow Lisa, a socially Awkward teen who begins a relationship with a reanimated corpse and soon go on a journey of Love, Murder and a few missing body parts along the way. Now I like the aesthetic of a quirky 80s romcom mixed with the  classic monster story and hopefully it will be worth a watch. I know this will be out just in time for Valentines in the US but I guess we'll have to do with a release at the Beginning of March.

Imaginary (March 8th)

Now for the first of 2 films of this year that have a similar concept but are completely different in genre and tone with the first being Imaginary. This film will see the mother giving their daughter the hand me down of her childhood teddy bear and the daughter becomes smitten with it, but when she starts to act not like herself she sense that something sinister has been attached to the doll. Now I see the likes of this being interesting but it has been the case that the horror films so far this year haven't been recieved the best and while the trailer was intruiging, its nothing I haven't seen before but hopefully I am proven wrong when the film drops on the weekend before I turn old.

Damsel (March 8th)

But if you are looking for something to watch at home, with a star known for projects on Netflix and has a bit of a fantasy element to it then you can worry not as their is the new film known as Damsel. This will follow Milly Bobbie Brown's character that sees a common girl having the chance to marry a handsome prince is discovered to be a trap to be used as a sacrifice to a dangerous dragon creature for them to pay off an ancient debt and she must use her wits to defeat it and save herself from an untimely demise. Now I have the case that it doesn't look too bad and I have my own gripes with overusing this actress in a lot of things, but I think this could end up being decent and I will give this a look around then when it releases onto Netflix.

Drive Away Dolls (March 15th)

Now for a film with a bit of a black comedy film that has the potential of being something fun and enjoyable from one of the most renowned directors of Ethan Coen (one of the 2 Coen Brothers) with the film of Drive Away Dolls. This follows Marian and Jamie, two roomate friends who decide to find love and be more open by taking a cross country to Tallahassee Florida to find themselves but they soon end up in a bit of a situation when they are being pursued by some criminal gang when they are given a car with an important briefcase package in the trunk and must find a way to get it back. Now it seems like a quirky chick flick but something about this looks like a lot of fun and I will be giving this a look into when it comes out in mid March.

Road House Remake (March 21st)
Now a film that I didn't really think needs a remake but I guess it is popular that why not make another one as Amazon Prime will be given us an all new remake to the cult classic Patrick Sawyzee film of Road House. Now it is starring Jake Gyllenhaal as an ex UFC fighter who ends up working in a roadhouse bar in the Florida Keys where things are not as they seem. Now I like Gyllenhaal but I question who thought a good casting choice was Conor Mcgreggor as some supporting character, I know he was popular a good while ago but now he's not much of a popular figure (and some of his comments and stuff on social media I do not agree with but I am not getting into that at all)  but hopefully his role is very minimal and that this turns out decently when it drops in the 2nd half of March on Prime Video.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (March 22nd)

Now the 2nd film that was delayed out of the end of 2023 is about to bring the chill, cause when it's something weird and it really don't look good, then who are you gonna call? I guess it is the new Ghostbusters of course as we have what is technically the 4th entry in the franchise with Frozen Empire that will see the entirety of New York in a summer Heatwave become trapped in a major cold snap that will see the Ghostbusters young and old stop what is causing this bit of frosty fiasco. Now this is a follow up to Afterlife, I film I did see and did enjoy a whole yet and that is technically the 3rd Ghostbusters and the 4th film overall as the other one..... well (we don't talk on that one) and I think so far it does look decent and I am intrigued to see how this will turn out when it takes a chill in the latter half of March.

Kung Fu Panda 4 (March 28th)

And now on a film that I for one am very excited and am hopeful will be just as good as its original trilogy as everyone's favourite Dragon Warrior Panda of Po is back for the all new Kung Fu Panda 4. This one will see Po go on a quest to find the new Dragon Warrior and become the next spiritual leader of the Valley of Peace, but when an all new threat of the Chameleon takes the power of some of the past enemies including Tai Lung, its up to Po, the Furious Five, his family and a new companion with Zhen to stop this powerful new foe and save the day. Now I am very excited for this being it inspiration in kung fu mythos and a series that could've flopped from the beginning releasing great films every time makes me excited for this film wrapping up quite a busy March

April

The First Omen (April 5th)

Now for a film that seems to make a follow up and set the scene for a horror film franchise thats been around for nearly half a century and will be the origin to the original classic with the fil of the First Omen. This will tell the tale of a young woman who is sent to work at a church in Rome but soon uncovers a sinister conspiracy that could lead to the birth of the Antichrist. Now the only one I have seen is the original classic and haven't really seen much of the other 2 in the trilogy, the tv film or remake but the trailer that came out at the beginning of the year look cryptic and hopefully it will turn out good as it releases just before Easter.

Godzilla x Kong: A New Empire (April 5th)

Now for a film that may have a bit of an odd release as its either first or second weekend of April or even earlier on the last weekend of March (some dates got moved around but just go with it) we are talking on what I would see as maybe the start of the blockbuster season (unless you want to count Dune Part 2, Ghostbuster and Kung Fu Panda in that as well) we are seeing 2 iconic titans who have been having some great publicity and popularity as of late, teaming up to face a new threat in Godzilla x Kong: A new empire. This will be see the big prehistoric Lizard Titan and Big Monke teaming up to face a new threat with The Skar King: Another large ape that looks like he's balding and has a massive wing span. Now I thought that GVK was quite enjoyable and I think this does look like a very decent new introduction and if it is as good as the recently released Monarch series or the excellent Minus One then I am all in for more titan battles for a very long time.

Rebel Moon Part 2: The Scar Giver (April 19th)
Now for a film that for a little under a month now since its release that always pops up on my social media feed from the somewhat annoying fandom of this director that makes this film that was average out like it is the second coming of Christ, we have the 2nd part to the Zack Snyder Sci-fi film of Rebel Moon with the Scargiver that will see Kora and her new team of warriors (that are left anyway) teaming up to fight against the soverign and stop the forces of the Motherworld from destroying all that they care and love. Now as mentioned the first part was mid and a little bit boring that mainly consisted of travelling to a few locations, finding warriors and then preparing them for a battle in the next film and has a lot of parallels to Seven Samurai and Star Wars. Now I am hoping that the 2nd part will be decently better cause the first part was underwhelming (well for some while many online that love any of his work see it as a masterpiece) or if that directors cut fixes some things cause right now, its hard to say.

challengers (April 26th)

Now we have another film that was delayed out of last year due to strikes and all that with a new film from director Luca Quadagnino with Challengers. This will see Zendaya playing an all star Tennis Player, who after a bad injury becomes a coach to her husband and end up in a match with an old partner and friend to the both of them that may see some sense of old feeling and romance return. Now this is the film with the trailer of the slightly steamy make out scene of the 3 of them that everyone remembers from the trailer but I think that from the concept and trailer it is looking decent and will be worth a watch when it drops at the end of April.

Civil War (April 26th)

Now for a film that had to release on a year when this kind of thing could become a scary reality in America as director Alex Garland bring us his new thriller of Civil War that will see the film set in a near future and follow a team of journalists travelling across the US during a rapidly escalating civil war that's engulfed the entire nation that will have them struggle to survive when the government has becomes a dystopian dictatorship and partisan extremist militias commit political violence on the daily. Now this film will probably be one of the biggest talking point of this year and feel a little too close to how the US seems to be shaping up if you have been following US politics lately that it could be like the other film from last year of the Sound of Freedom: a film that had a massive movement in the US at first but saw it fizzle by the time it reached other parts of the world. But I guess we will have to find out when this film drops at the end of April this year.

May

The Fall Guy (May 2nd)

Now for an all new action film from the director of John Wick, Deadpool 2 and Bullet Train as we have the new Ryan Gosling movie of the Fall Guy. This will see Gosling play the character of Colt Seavers, a stuntman past his prime, working for a famous actor he worked with a long time ago on a film being made by his ex-girlfriend. But when the star of the film goes missing and the film is threatened to be shelved, Colt goes on a mission to find the missing actor and save the movie. Now this is also based on a tv series from the early 80s of the same name and from the trailer, it does look really good and I look forward to checking this out as the start of the Summer season of films.

Back in Black (April 12th)

Now for the last of the Biopics this year that we know of, we once again have a new biopic of a famous musician taken away from us too soon with Back to Black which will focus on the early life and Career of the famous musician of Amy Winehouse up to her tragic passing in 2011 at the age of only 27. Now this biopic seems to look like it will go into her personal life and her career and I can see this being an interesting watch. Now this drops in mid April for the UK and Ireland and then out in early May for the US audiences.

Garfield Movie (May 24th)

And now for another animated fixture with the long return of the popular fat orange cat with an all new movie of Garfield. Now this new story will see Garfield (voiced by Chris Pratt) become reunited with his long lost father of Vic (Voiced by Samuel L. Jackson) and end up with the 2 of them and Odie getting tangled up in a somewhat heist situation. Now visually the animation looks great, the characters are very close to their original comic strip counterparts and its seems like it could be enjoyable, I know most of the issues with the film right now is with the decision of the casting of Chris Pratt as Garfield as people think he is not doing that much effort into the role but I think he is fine and sounds close to most of the other version of this character in the past but I will definitely give this a look into when it releases in late May amongst a very busy weekend.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (May 24th)

Now for a film who's continuation has me a little concerned following from the conclusion of the fantastic reboot trilogy of a 1960s classic but we are returning to the world of Apes with the newest film of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. This new film will see us jump 300 years into the future and see the world populated by more intelligent and sentient apes while the remaining humans of the past being reduced to more animalistic nature and will follow a young ape named Noa, who goes on a journey with a young human named Mae to determine the future of humans and apes alike and stop the new tyrannical reign of Proximus Caesar, who tries to pervert the teachings of Caesar and use it to enslave other ape clans to help them find the last traces of Human technologies. Now the trailer does have me intruiged and looks like we are getting closer and closer to the version of the original film from the 60s and it does have my peaked intertest, I am uncertain with it not being made by Matt Reeves since he is busy with his Batman sequel but I do hope that it will turn out really good and on par with the excellent trilogy. This also might be having a slightly earlier release date but it is unclear right now.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (May 24th)

And for a film that sees the return of a beloved director to a franchise that is seen as his best we are of course delving into the twisted world of Mad Max once again but this time we are focusing on a character that was introduced in the last film of Fury Road and became a fan favourite with the new film of Furiosa: A Mad Max saga. Now this will focus on a younger version of Fury Road's Furiosa, in this played by Anya Taylor Joy, who will show her being captured from her home of the Green Place of Many Mothers and given to a evil biker gang led by their leader of Dementus, played by Chris Hemsworth and she must find a way back home in the middle of a battle of two Tyrant fighting for dominance. Now I loved Fury Road and I a excited for this film and I am hoping all this hype will not be for nothing as the trailer gave some very interesting insights into the franchise and I am sure I will be giving this a look when it releases on that busy weekend.

IF (May 24th)

Now for the last film in that very busy weekend and also the last anticipated release in May is coming to us from Director of John Krasinski that is not a new entry in a horror franchise he started 5 years ago (but more on that later in this piece) but more of a lighthearted comedy with the new film of IF (this is also the 2nd film similar to Imaginary that has a similar concept but completely different). This film focuses on a young girl who has the ability to see the Imaginary friends of others and mainly to the ones that have been forgotten by their grown up kids and with the help of the Man upstairs, played by Ryan Reynolds, will find a way to get them a new kid to be their imaginiary friend and create a home for them all. Now it does have a unique concept and some of the IF's have some interesting designs and it does give me some very Fosters home for Imaginary friends vibes and hopefully this turn out quite good in the end.

June

Ballerina (June 7th)
Now onto the movies of the true summer months and we start with the all new spin-off in the world of John Wick with the first spin off film with Ballerina that will follow the character of Rooney, played by Ana De Armas, who is a ballerina for the ballerina school under the guise of the director who is looking to seek revenge against those that killed her family. Now this has me interested and this will be set in between the events of John Wick 3 and 4 and has me interested to see how this will all turn out and hopefully we will get some footage for the film soon.

Bad Boys 4 (June 14th)
so whatcha gonna do when they come for you once again as the next film out in the long list of films this year is the confirmed 4th entry in the Bad Boys franchise. Now not much is known on the film but will see Will Smith and Martin Laurence back again for more gun battles and high speed chases and facing an all new villain being played by Eric Dane, Now it is a question if the slap seen around the world will affect the reception or appeal for the film but I guess we will find out once we get the first bit of footage for the movie sometime soon.

Inside Out 2 (June 14th)

Now for taking a trip to one of my all time favourite studios of Pixar as we returning to the mind of the young Riley once again to an all new sequel to the beloved Pixar film of Inside Out. This new one will see the emotions of Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger and Disgust learning to deal with the changes of the now teenaged Riley as she enters Puberty and with it comes new emotions with the first one introduced in the trailer being Anxiety and in all honestly I can totally relate to a character as someone who is so very anxious all the god damn time but I hide it as well as I can. I am sure we will be introduced to the other new editions soon before this movie I am very excited to see comes out in Mid-June.

The Bikeriders (June 21st)

Now for a film that had initally a planned released at the beginning of December but got moved out of the release date a full week and a half before its release and moved to a new studio but we will be getting the film in the early summer with the Bikeriders. This is a film that will be based on a fictional groups of bikers from the 1960s known as the Outlaws OC and told through the perspective of its members and their partners. Now this was initially a planned film to be released by Disney and then was picked up by another studio which is good move on their part as it is considered as an awards contender and I am sure we will see how it turns out in Late June.

A Quiet Place Day One (June 28th)
And on the last of the films for June we are returning to a series of films by a director we talked about the director of a few films back but will not be majorly involved with this new entry in the Quiet Place series with Day one. Now this is a spin off to the original duology and will follow some new characters played by Lupita Nyong'o and Joseph Quinn and following the affects of the stranger alien creature that has strong hearing abilities and showing the effects in a massive city of New York. Now this has an interesting Idea and has an interesting concept of what is the other countries in the world responding to the situation and I am sure we will see the outcome when it drops at the end of June.

July

Despicable Me 4 (July 12th)
Now for the next entry in the series of films that will make the studio big bucks as we have the all new 4th entry in the mainline Despicable Me series (and 6th film overall counting the Minions films). Now not much is actually known on this right now, not even who the villain is but it may be pointing to Gru's Brother Dru taking that mantle but I am sure they'll unveil it in the first trailer at some point soon.

Twisters (July 19th)
Now this is something that many people didn't expect or think was going to get a sequel but in the summer is a sequel to the 1996 disaster movie of Twister with Twisters. Now this is technically labelled as a Reboot, A Sequel and its own separate story to the original film but I am sure we will learn more on it when it releases some footage soon.

Deadpool 3 (July 26th)
And now for the sole MCU official film that survived the many delays and push outs of this year is with of course the threequel to the Merc with a Mouth of Deadpool. Now we don't have too much info on the plot right now but it seems that it will be a Multiverse story that will bring a lot more X-Men into the MCU and will also bring back a major focus of Hugh Jackman back again as Wolverine in this team up film. Now logically this will probably go absolutely balls to the walls insane as only a Deadpool movie could so we will have to see some of the plot threads when we get some proper first look footage at the film soon.

August

Borderlands (Aug 9th)
Now for another video game adaptation and the first of 2 or possibly 3 Video game movies from this year is the film that has been in the working process for well over 2 years now and only finally received a release date late last year but we are getting the film adaptation of the popular series of Borderlands. Now the film will follow the character of Lilith (played by Cate Blanchett) who returns to her home world of Pandora and will soon find herself with a group of unlikely allies, joining forces to protect the missing daughter of one of the Universe's most power S.O.B's as she may hold some great unimaginable power. Now I have dabbled a little into the Borderlands series in the past and I may give them a proper look into before this film releases in the later half of the summer.

Alien: Romulus (August 16th)
Now for returning to a place where no one can hear you scream as we will be returning to the world originally conceived by the mind of Ridley Scott as we have an all new entry in the Alien franchise with Romulus. Now not much is known on its plot as of right now but it has been confirmed that this will be a film that takes place in between the events of Alien and Aliens so it does sound intriguing and makes me think of the excellent Alien Isolation game that had the same timeframe as this movie so who knows how it will turn out and hopefully it will get some appeal and go back to the classics similar to how Predator did with Prey.

Kraven the Hunter (Aug 30th)

Now for the 2nd of the films from the Sony side of Marvel movies and the one that got a massive delay is with the new film focusing on another of Spidey's rogues gallery and this is with Kraven the Hunter. Now this film follows Sergei Kravinoff as he sets off to prove to be the greatest hunter in the world and take revenge against his father while also dealing with new animalistic powers. Now it does seem to be delving into a more mature tone with more violent kills and bloodshed then the others and I am all for giving it a more mature aesthetic and hopefully this one will turn out pretty good but we have to wait and see until then.

September

Beetlejuice 2 (Sept 6th)
Now on the only big film in September that I am intrigued by and that is with the long awaited follow up to the 1988 cult classic of Beetlejuice. Now the plot details are not too well known currently but it will see Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder returning to their roles after 36 years and I am intrigued to see what they will do with this sequel when it drops in the early Fall.

October

Joker: Folie a Deux (Oct 4th)

Now on a film that I very interested in but also feel this may be a bit of overdoing it but we are getting the sequel to the 2019 smash hit of Joker with Folie a Deux. Now this will see Joaquin Phoenix return as The Joker himself and will be given a love interest in the form of Harley Quinn in this played by Lady Gaga that will see some form of new romance and drama. Now personally I am still on the case this film didn't need to be made as the first one worked so well as a singular film but I will give it a chance, most case I am intrigued in how they are going to make this a musical but I am sure there will be a way, but I hold out and hopefully it will be as good and well awarded as the original.

Transformers One (Oct 18th)
Now to the small group that may remember, last year we got a new film entry in the live action series of Transformers series of Rise of the Beasts, that while I enjoyed it a lot more then the last 2 Bay film, there is some problems with that (and I will delve into them in the eventual review) but did you know we are getting a new animated film in the Transformers universe with Transformers One (It may have changed the name but I will need to check it out). This new film will be a somewhat origins of the characters and is set on Cybertron and see the origins of how the Autobots and Deceptacons became enemies. Now this isn't going to have the known cast of the characters and will have Chris Hemsworth as Optimus Prime and Brian Tyree Henry as Megatron. But I am sure we will get used to it when we see some first look at the film sometime soon.

Smile 2 (Oct 18th)
Now onto a new sequel to a small horror movie from 2 years ago that didn't have the most unique concept but turned out to be a very decent film and that is a sequel to the film Smile. Now it is unclear of what exactly will be the basis of the follow up but I guess this curse will soon be spread across the globe or else they will most case delve into the origins of the curse or creature and find a way to kill it. Either way I am sure if it finds the appeal and success of the original then I am sure this one will do well in the process.

Wolfman (Oct 25th)
And timing close enough to the spooky season, we are seeing an all new adaptation of the famous monster of the Wolfman making an appearance this year. Now this will see a family trying to defend themselves from the dangerous predator of the wolfman and that is as much plot as we can get from this. Now this is part of the supposed established Dark Universe that Universal has been pushing since the disaster of The Mummy from 2017 and follows on from the actually well made 2020 film of The Invisible Man so it could have some elaborate deeper meaning to it. It was also supposed to star Oscar nominated actor of Ryan Gosling in the film but has since been replaced with Poor things actor Christopher Abbott, so I guess we will have to find out how it turns out around Halloween.

November

Paddington in Peru (Nov 8th)

Now for a movie that I am very excited to check out in this upcoming Holiday season and that is the long awaited 3rd movie in the beloved series of Paddington movies. Now for the title, it seems like Paddington and the Brown family are heading to Peruto visit Aunt Lucy but soon leads to them ending up in misadventures that could lead to some wholesome family adventures. Now it has seen 2 changes as Paul King is not the director this time as he was busy making the very entertaining Wonka film from last year and that Sally Hawkins, who also appeared in that film and played Mrs Brown in the first 2 films, is not returning for this and will be replaced by Emily Mortimer who played the older version of one of the Banks children in the Mary Poppins sequel. But I still have very strong hope that they will make it just as entertaining and wholesome as the original 2 films and I am very excited for it too.

Venom 3 (Nov 8th)
And for the last of the Sony Spider-Man films that do not include Spider-Man from this year as everyone's favourite large hulking Alien symbiote of Venom is back again for a 3rd movie. Now it is unclear of what this film will be about in terms of plot or if it will acknowledge the mid credits scenes of both Let there be Carnage and No Way Home, but I am sure we will see the Anti-hero fight another form of the Symbiote and even possibly bring him to a world that has a Spider-Man in it but I guess we will find out sometime soon.

Gladiator 2 (Nov 22)
Now for a film that is coming to us 24 years after the release of the first film and is surprising to be getting a sequel is a follow up to the Historical epic of Gladiator. Now the film is set 15 years after the events of the original and will follow the tale of the much older Lucius, the grown nephew of Commodus and will set off on a journey to find out the truth about his biological father. Now this film has quite the stacked cast including Paul Mescal, Denzel Washington, Pedro Pascal, Connie Nielsen and many other big names and hopefully this will have a very grand scale like the original but I am sure we will find out more when it releases closer to the end of the year.

Red One (Nov 22nd)
Just when you thought that we had seen the slow rollout of festive holiday films, along comes Amazon, and Warner Bros with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to bring a new film entitled Red One. Now not much is known on this film but it plans to be the start of a potential franchise that will reshape some classic Holiday Mythology and this film is also starring Chris Evans and even J.K Simmons as I believe a buff Santa Claus, but I am sure we will find out more about this film in the near future.

Wicked Part 1 (Nov 29th)
And the last of the films that will be releasing in the month of November is taking a new form of adapting a stage play into a full feature length film is with a new adaptation on the popular Broadway show of Wicked. The basis of this film (planned as a 2 parter) is essentially set in the films of the Wizard Of OZ and will tell the story of the origins of the Wicked Witch of the West. Now this will be starring Cynthia Ervio as the Wicked Witch and Ariana Grande as the Good witch and also has Michelle Yeoh casted in this and Jeff Goldblum is playing the Wizard but then remembering that their was already a form of adaptation to this with Oz the great and powerful from a decade ago but who knows. I am sure their will be some appeal and hopefully this will work out and not be just a focus for one actress in this but its hard to tell right now.

December

Karate Kid (December 13th)

Now we have seen the series of this go from classic series of the 80s, to a mixed response remake in the early 2010's to a popular sequel series from Youtube red and then to Netflix with Cobra Kai, but now it looks like we are getting an all new follow up in the karate kid franchise. Not much is known right now but it will see Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan bot appearing in the film combining both movies together and so far they have been looking for the next lead star for the film, so whether we will see this release this year is anyones guess but I guess we will wait and see

Lord of the Ring: The War of the Rohirrim (Dec 13th)
So it has been about a decade since we have seen any form of the world of Middle Earth on the big screen (unless that rings of power series was shown in cinemas at some point) but it looks like we are getting ourselves an all new animated Lord of the Rings movie entitled The War of the Rohirrim. Now this film will be set 261 years before the events of the Two Towers and tell the story of Helm Hammerhand, a legendary king of Rohan who must defend his people and his kingdom against an army of Dunlendings. Now I am intrigued in the form of if this will have a distinct similar animation style to the old Lord of the Rings film adaptations or if it will have a style unique to them similar to Spider-verse, Ninja Turtles or whatever they see fit but I am sure we will learn a lot more about it overtime by its release before Christmas.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (Dec 20th)
Following the very successful 2 films that could've crashed and burned from the start from a certain design, we have the upcoming release of the 3rd entry in the Sonic the Hedgehog film series. Now not much is known right now in the plot but it will be seeing some more edgier tone as we are being introduced to the fan favourite character of Shadow in this film, alongside the return of Tails and Knuckles. Now it is unclear if we will see any other new additions like the love interest for Sonic with Amy or even the one closely related with Shadow with Rogue, or even if we will see Jim Carrey back as Eggman for another go around but I am sure we will learn more on the film as time goes on this year.

Mufasa: The Lion King (Dec 20th)
Now for the sole surviving Live action film from the giant company of Disney and coming 5 years after its predecessor that is the highest grossing animated movie (even though it is labelled as live action) we have the all new sequel to the Lion King. Now this is actually focused as a prequel sequel as it will be focused on a younger Mufasa and Scar before the events of the original and besides that we do not have much to go on but I am sure we will get given more details as the film reaches closer to release by the end of the year.

Untitled film by Jordan Peele (Dec 25th)
Now for a film that has me very excited with its anticipation, as coming off his success from his turn to horror from his decently entertaining comedy, Jordan Peele is back once again with his next new film. Now details on this film are very hush hush, so much so we have no idea what it is about or even a name for the film, but if it is as great as his films of Get Out, Us and Nope then I am all for waiting to see what kind of tense creepy tale with a deep message undertone he will have this time around.

Nosferatu (Dec 25th)
And the last of the films that we know of a release for this year will be seeing Peele go up against another strong horror contender from a new upcoming director as Robert Eggers, the director of The Witch, the Lighthouse and the underrated but really great The Northman, is coming back with a new horror in Nosferatu. Now this is a new attempt at an adaptation of the gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and a terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in her wake. Now it has a star studded cast with Lily Rose Depp, Willem Dafoe, Nicholas Hoult, Bill Skarsgard and many more and I am sure it will be a hauntingly good scare around the holidays this year.

Possible releases of 2024

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-verse
Now on the possible releases, the first one I see as being one that will be given all of its time and passion to be put into it as we will have the final entry of the Spider-verse trilogy with Beyond. Now it will follow on from the cliffhanger of Across and see Gwen and her team go on a journey to rescue Miles from the alternate universe he finds himself trapped in, while dealing with the pursuing threat of 2099 and take down the all powerful form of the Spot. Now I am not so sure if this film will release this year and I think at the earliest it will be next year or by 2026 at the latest and even so I am totally fine with it taking as long as it needs to, as those first 2 are works of art and masterpieces and this one should hopefully be the same.

Lilo and Stitch: Live Action
Now Mufasa may not be the only Live action Disney film that we may see this year as one of the other possible releases is a live action version of the very popular film of Lilo and Stitch. Now this will be the story of an alien creature fugitive crash landing on the small island of Hawaii and to escape his pursuers, pretend to be a dog that gets adopted by a young lonely girl named Lilo and her sister Nani and soon things will turn hectic on an intergalactic scale. Now it is a rumour right now and they may be trying to release for the early part of the summer in June but I am sure we will hear more very soon on if this is true or a big old lie.

Knives Out 3?
Now on a film that comes from a director that many blamed for the death of Star Wars and then released two murder mysteries regarded as some of his best work may be back once again with a 3rd entry in the Knives Out series. Now it's unclear who will be joining the soon to be all star cast similar to the previous 2 but we do know that Daniel Craig will be back as Benoit Blanc and solving an all new mystery in a very vibrant new location where anyone could be the killer and I for one cannot wait.

Mortal Kombat 2?
Now on the only possibly rumoured video game adaptation in the list of films may be seeing an all out brawl taking place as we may see the possible release of the sequel to the 2021 adaptation of Mortal Kombat. Now not much is known on the story but we do know that at least one new addition to the film is with Karl Urban taking on the role of popular series character of Johnny Cage and that filming had started before the strikes stopped it in its tracks, it is unclear if we will see it but it may boost a somewhat quiet fall season for films.

MaXXXine
Now this one that you may not be fully aware of but around 2 years ago in 2022, we saw the release of 2 films of a planned trilogy with the first film named X in late March, and the follow up with Pearl that September and now they are back with the conclusion with Maxxxine. Now this will be set after the events of X (Pearl being a prequel) and will see Mia Goth in the leading role and taking on a new form of Horror Genre media. Now I will say that this film could have some possible affects due to a possible legal issue that Goth may face due to an allegation that she kicked an extra in the face on a previous film she worked on but I am sure we will delve more into the film whenever we get word of a release date.

Coyote Vs Acme
Now context on this one, if you remember around late last year, it was announced that Warner Bros had cancelled a live action / animated court drama comedy based on Wile E. Coyote for a tax write off and then it saw a massive push back and even a possible legal investigation that it has now been shopped around to some of the big companies for distribution and it could see a release sometime this year. Now to give a bit of plot, it will see Wile taking Acme to court as none of their products have been successful in helping them capture the road runner and gets a lawyer that may not be the best but will give it a damn try, but when the prosecution lawyer is the head of Acme and the lawyers old Boss, he will make it his mission to win the case. Now it has garnered strong test audience reception and other positive opinions so it may be worth a watch whenever it may get released and hopefully get a release in cinemas and show Warner are making some really bad choices.

Mickey 17

And the final rumoured film is coming too us in the form of an all new film from Academy Award Director Bong Joon-Ho with Mickey 17. Now it will follow the titular character, who is known as an "expendable", a disposable body on a human expedition sent to colonize the ice world of Niflheim where if one iteration dies, a new body is regenerated with most of the memories still intact. Now it is quite an interesting concept that has some big names like Robert Pattinson, Steven Yuen, Toni Colette, Naomi Ackie and Mark Ruffalo in the cast which may be a big award contender if done successfully. Now initially planned for a release in Late March, the film was delayed just a short while ago to an unknown date but I am sure that we will receive a new date soon before the end of the year.

Switch on the TV Love

Now lets look into some of the big releases in Tv of the year from normal TV and streaming services:

The Brothers Sun (Jan 4th)

So we start with a big new crime drama comedy with the newest series of the Brothers Sun on Netflix. Now this will follow on from the assassination of the head of the Taiwanese Triad, his eldest son of Charles Sun, returns to his home in LA to protect his mother and brother, who's been completely sheltered from the truth of his family until now. Now I have to say I am living for the new wave of projects with Oscar Winner Michelle Yeoh and this does look like a fair bit of great action and a bit of humour in between and may be a decent watch on Netflix.

Marvel Studio's Echo (Jan 10th)
Now while the MCU will have a minimal amount of films this year, we will see 2 trips (presumably) to the canon MCU projects and the first of these ones are focused on a character introduced in the Hawkeye series with Echo. Now this follow on that series and follow Maya, a deaf anti-hero who will delve into her past and heritage in order to bring down the empire that was once belonged to her adopted uncle of the Kingpin. Now this is where we are starting to see more of the darker mature content that is going for the basis of the Daredevil series and will help establish more grounded character focused stories and while I had my doubts on the series but I think giving it more of a series that anyone can start with and be a bit more darker and violent then other Marvel fare then I am sure that it lead to more mature series and films from this franchise.

Hazbin Hotel (Jan 19th)

Now for a series that started with a pilot episode on YouTube about 5 years ago and after another spin off series and funding with Amazon and A24, we finally see the launch of the first season of Hazbin Hotel. This series will follow Charlie, the princess of Hell, who decides to help with the overcrowding of the underworld and the impending mass cleansing, she opens a hotel to help give those damned a second chance to get into heaven and with some friends, love ones and other colorful characters they will get into some hijinks and hopefully make it all work out with a bit of a song and dance in between). Now I remember watching the series back in 2019 and enjoyed it for its concept and animation and I would say it is worth a check out and then worth a watch of the series for a possible hell of a good time.

February

Mr and Mrs Smith (Feb 2nd)

Now the next series from Prime Video that will also be a form of a remake of a popular action film that saw the leads getting together from the outcome as we will be seeing the remake of Mr and Mrs Smith. Now this will see Donald Glover and Maya Erskine who are 2 spies who are paired up together to impersonate a married couple names John and Jane Smith. Now it does seem like an interesting concept of remaking a film that is a very popular flick and I think it could work with a big budget action film and will be worth a watch if this series succeeds in its execution.

Halo Season 2 (Feb 8th)

Master Chief, you mind telling me where you have been for the last few month? Sir, making a show. Yes John Master chief is back again for the upcoming 2nd season of Halo on Paramount+. This will follow on from the end of the first season and will have him keep the rings of halo safe from the covenant for all of mankind. Now going off the marketing and concepts I am hearing about this that it may be taking some inspiration from the Halo reach game for some part of the series and hopefully it will see some appeal after the complaints of Chief taking off his helmet all the time and him uh..... clapping cheeks given in the game he has no sex drive but I am sure we will see how it improves from the launch season.

Ted: The Series (Feb 9th)

Now on a series that has so far garnered a surprise reveal and release after a lengthy development and we are seeing the return of the foul mouth talking teddy bear with Seth Mcfarlane's Ted series. Now this will take place before the events of the first film and follow Ted and Johnny growing up in 90s America and learn to deal with school, relationships, sex, family, drugs and everything in between. Now the concept of a series on a character that has been absent for nearly a decade seems like an interesting topic to go back to and I am sure it is worth a watch when it releases in early Feb.

Avatar The Last Airbender (Feb 22)

and rounding out the series for February, we will see the elements of Earth, Water, Fire and Air combine with the release of the live action adaptation of Avatar the Last Airbender for Netflix. Now this will follow the animated series that will see an airbender named Aang be discovered after the last Avatar had disappeared around 100 years ago and with the aid of siblings Katara and Sokka, they will join forces to help him learn the other elements to become the true Avatar and stop the fire Nation from taking over the world. Now I was hesitant as while the original series was great and the concept was going good from the original creators working on it for a while they soon left and worry returned but after the first look at the show I think that it is in a good place and may actually be pretty good but I am sure we will find out when the series makes it debut on the streaming giant.

March

Manhunt (March 18th)
Now the only series from March that has some interesting concept of appeal is coming from Apple Tv and that is with a series known as Manhunt. Now its not based on the controversial Rockstar Game but rather this series will be about a group of bounty hunters who go on a journey to find and captured or kill John Wilkes Booth, who had recently assassinated Lincoln in the theatre very recently. Now it does sound like an interesting series and coming from Apple there will be a big production to it all and I am sure it will be worth a watch in mid March.

April

Fallout (April 12th)

Now on the adaptation in the series for the video game adaptations and this is coming from Amazon Prime and this is with a new take on the popular Bethesda series of Fallout. Now this series will be set in California and will see the citizens of Vault 33 return to the surface world and experience the world changed by the detonation of a Nuclear Bomb that has frozen this dystopian future in the 1950s American era. Now upon watching the trailer for the series I have to say that it does look really well done, it has the feel of the game with the designs and concepts and hopefully it will be worth a watch once it starts premiering around the Easter time of this year.

May and June

Bridgerton Season 3 Part 1 (May 16th), Part 2 (June 13th)
Now for the return to some more royal based period piece affair as we have the return of the popular Netflix series of Bridgerton that will see the cast back once again with becoming royalty, love and all other affairs in the country to have to deal with in an orderly manner. Now the series will be following an approach that most popular shows from the Netflix Library and seeing the series being split into 2 parts with the first batch releasing in May and the 2nd half in Mid June so it may be a point of watching them separate or together whenever you see fit.

November
Arcane Season 2

Now delving a fair bit into the year with a series that we know of a release month for is with the anticipated 2nd season to Arcane, the video game adaptation series of League of Legends that will continue the story of Vi and Jinx in this elaborate world of Piltover and Zaun. I am sure they have been crafting the season for the better half of 3 years and will provide great story telling and visual stunning animation in the process too so we will wait and see how it will all look in the end.

Unknown dates for 2024

The Penguin

Now on the shows that have a projected release this year but have no release date as of yet, we are staring with the series from this year that I am very excited to see play out and it is following up with one of the best films of 2022 and is the spin off of The Batman with a focus on The Penguin. Now I believe the plot of this is set before and after the events of the film and will see Colin Farrell back in the role he played excellently as Oswald Cobblepot and will see his rise to become the biggest crime boss after the death of Falcone in the film. Now I really like this interpretation of the character and hopefully they will do it justice and help lead into the excitement I have for the next Batman film coming out later next year so lets hope this is as good as the first film.

House of the Dragon Season 2 (Summer)

Now the follow on series that we do have a project release in the summer, blood will spill and fire will rise as we have the upcoming second season of the Game of Thrones spin-off of House of the Dragon. Now this will follow on from the end of the first season with the outcome of the betrayal, death and anger against each family in this conflict where everyone has the use of Dragons. Now the first season had worry of messing up like the original series final season but it stuck the landing and was a very entertaining show that felt less over stressful as it just focused on one family of Westeros, do with we stayed with the younger actors a little longer as Milly Alcock was fantastic but I am sure we will see some more great stuff soon when it releases in the summer.

X-men 97
Now on the basis of the superhero show side of things, we are delving in the focus with the animated side of shows and films with the one most people are highly anticipated for is the continuation of a beloved series from the 90s with X-Men 97. Now technically this is the first MCU focused series with the X-men (unless you count Ms Marvel and the upcoming Deadpool 3 as first) but it will see some of your favourite characters like Wolverine, Professor X, Rogue, Beast, Storm and many more in the continuing adventures from the original series. Now it is unknown when it will drop but I am sure it will be around the spring of this year before the release of Deadpool in July.

Friendly Neighborhood Spider-man
Now this had initially the subtitle of Freshman year, but it looks like the only form of Animated anything involving the web head himself is coming to us in the form of the new animated series of Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Now this is going to be set before his first few films and will be seeing the character learning how to be a superhero for the first time while also dealing with his day to day situations of High School and home life while being a hero. Now I think it makes more sense to do the early years  of MCU spidey in this form as we have seen all of this outcome before in the past from the Maguire and Webb films but I think seeing him adapt starting out may be worth a fun watch.

Black Panther: Eyes of Wakanda
Now the last of the animated Marvel shows is one of the last ones announced very recently as it will be delving into the focus of the character of Black Panther with the series of Eyes of Wakanda. Now I feel most case with this series will be giving a focus to the land of Wakanda and also with some new tales and stories from characters we have known about in the past from the 2 films and other new additions. Now it is unclear if any of the cast from the 2 films will be in this reprising their roles and if we will see the likes of T'challa in this as well but I guess we will find out when it releases later this year.

Agatha: Darkhold Diaries / Coven of Chaos / House of Harkness
Now while we have gotten the release of the first Live Action MCU show very early this year, there is the discussion that we will have a 2nd series that will release this year and the one that seems to be the likely release is with the spin off from Wandavision with the character of Agatha Harkness with Darkhold Diaries or Coven of Chaos or House of Harkness (this has had 3 name changes). Now this will likely see the backstory of Agatha and maybe see her deal with some new powerful threat or escape from her personality trap made by Wanda at the end of the series but I am sure we will learn about it overtime and if this is the other series that will see the release this year or from series from another character introduced in a previous MCU film or show.

Star Wars: The Acolyte

Now on the likes of the galaxy far far away, we are looking into all that the world of Star Wars may be offering this year and while we have one confirmed release with the final season of The Bad Batch but some of the others ones that may get a reveal this year is with the Acolyte. Now this series will be set 100 years or so from the events of Phantom Menace and at the end of the High Republic era and will see a former Padawan reuniting with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister then they ever anticipated. Now it does sound like it is something fresh with being set before everything in the series when we have been stuck between before the original trilogy and before the sequels for the moment and having something that set a century before the story of the Skywalkers is something that has me invested and hopefully will be really good.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew
Now it is not the case that we are leaving the post empire era as we have another new series with a big name with Jude Law in the series and this is with the series of Skeleton Crew. Now this one is seen more as a coming of age story that will have 4 younglings who end up on an adventure to try and get back home after getting lost in the galaxy after making a discovery about their home planet. Now we have seen plenty of series that have been more focused on action and more dramatic and deep story, so the likes of a more cosmic coming of age story might actually be a very welcoming addition to the series and I am intrigued to see some form of footage for this soon to get some ideas of where this will be heading.

Dune Prophecy
Now while we have the big 2nd part of this classic Novel coming out early this year, it is not the only media piece set in that universe as we do have a tv series coming along based on the world of Dune with Dune Prophecy. Now this series is planned to be set 10,000 years before the events of the novel and follows Sisters of Valya and Tula Harkonnen as they combat forces that threaten the future of Humankind and establish the fabled sect known as the Bene Gesserit. Now I wonder if it will be on the level of production as the 2 films from Denis Villeneuve but I guess we will have to see when the series releases if it does this year.

Daredevil Born Again?
Now this is a series that I am doubting will release this year due to the complete overhaul but another MCU series may see the release at the very end of the year is with the long awaited Daredevil: Born Again. Now most case this will see the return of the Man without fear and see some of the other cast of the defenders and lead on from a story of Kingpin building his empire or becoming the Mayor of New York and starting the Devils Reign story but I guess it will all be worth to see if this does release in the year or not but we shall see overtime.

Kiteman: Hell Yeah
Now an unexpected spin off is our next project we will be discussing about today and if you have seen the adult animated series of Harley Quinn from HBO, then you know that we are getting a spin off from this series with a show based on Kite Man. So this series is giving a focus on Kite Man and Golden Glider as they decide to make and open a bar in the shadow of Lex Luthor's Legion of Doom. While it may be a difficult thing to serve cold ones in this climate of heroes and villains, it does provide a hopeful place where everybody knows your name. Now I need to actually catch up on Harley Quinn ( I think I need to finish the rest of season 3 and watch the 4th season as well) but I like Kite Man in the series and I will give it a look when the series releases this year.

Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2?
Now this one is another bit of speculation of it releasing in this year or not but it may see the 2nd of the very expensive Lord of the Rings TV series of The Rings of Power. Now this will follow on from the end of the last season which will continue the story of middle earth set eons before the events of the 2 trilogies of films. Now whether it will have mass appeal is anyone's guess given people were hit or miss on the series but I am sure their is a likeliness of a 2nd season coming for this sometime soon.

Marvel Zombies?
Now there is actually 2 other MCU animated show that may have the possibility and one of them is a spin off from an episode of the other piece I will mention down the list but this is a new series focused on an episode where the remaining heroes of the world fight the undead which is of course the Marvel Zombies episode which could be an interesting take as that comic line has been quite popular in the last few years but it will have to be seen if it is coming to our screens this year or not.

Moana the series?
Now the first of 2 normal Disney series getting a release of a new series and the first is one that had a bit of relevancy last year where it suddenly got the announcement of its live action adaptation and this is a new series focused on Moana. Now most case this will focus on Moana and Maui as they explore new world beyond her Island home and have adventures along the way. Now whether we will see other characters from the film like the tribes if her home island, other gods and even the likes of Tomatoa is anyone's guess but I am sure we will find out overtime whenever this series releases soon.

Tiana
As for the 2nd Disney series we are returning to the last full fledged 2d animated film from disney as we will be returning to the world of the Princess and the Frog with a series on Tiana. This series will see her off on a grand new adventure as the newly crowned Princess of Maldonia, but a calling to her New Orleans past is still with her every step of the way. Now it is set to be a musical series and will most case have Prince Naveen, her mother Eudora, Louis the Crocodile and many other characters from the film but I am sure we will learn more on the series soon.

Marvel's What if season 3?

Now the last of the Marvel content is coming to us with the tease near the end of the season 2 of the show that came out at Christmas which is of course What If as it was announced a 3rd season was in the works. Now we have some ideas of the episodes which will see some faces from phase 4 including a Fugitive or Thelma and Louise episode with Red Guardian and the Winter soldier, an episode possibly focused on Wandavision where she watched musicals instead of sitcoms and we will also see the new version of Captain America in this series so their sounds like some interesting episodes but I am sure it will be a debate if this series will release this year or the next.

The Boys Season 4

Now for some superheroes with a little bit more of an unhinged side but we are also getting the upcoming 4th season to Prime Video's The Boys. Now this one seems a little topical as the series looks like it is getting a little political that could see Homelander become the leader of the Free world and Butcher boy trying as much as he can to stop this threat before he succumbs to a serious illness. Now the 3 seasons and the spin off have all had really strong reception and appeal so it is likely the case this will be on par with those season and I am sure things will get fucked up and messy when this drops sometime this year.

Squid Game Season 2

Now it has been 3 years since a little South Korean show came into the public conscience and many have been wondering where does it go from there? Well thankfully answers will hopefully be given as the 2nd season of the popular series of Squid game is on the way this year which will see some of the remaining cast delve deeper into the company and conspiracy of these violent and deadly games all for the chance of mass amounts of cash and appeal. Now it will see some new names joining the fray but I am sure we will learn more nearer the time of its release by years end

Invincible season 2 part 2
Now as of writing this, it now has a release in the 1st half of March on the 14th but we will see the follow up to the 2nd half of season 2 of invincible. This will see the follow on from the end of the last episode where Mark has come across his Father who left Earth at the end of the 1st season and follow on with some of those consequences and worries of the effects it will have on his character. Now the series has been very popular and I am sure it will have the mass appeal when the next episodes begin in March.

Win Or Lose
Now on the first of 2 shows from Pixar releasing sometime in the new year is an all new original series with Win or Lose. Now the series will be focusing on a little league baseball team known as the Pickles and will focus on a different member on the team on their lives and perspectives leading up to their big game. Now this does have some sense of a feel good series and hopefully we will get a first look footage for it soon and releasing soon after as I am looking forward to seeing how this game plays out.

Monsters at Work Season 2

And as for the 2nd of the Pixar series, it is the continuation with the 2nd season of the Monster's Inc Spin off show with Monsters at work. Now this will follow on from the end of the first season and first film and will see Tyler working as a new recruit on the Laugh floor as well as working with the Monsters Inc Facilities Team again or maybe some other departments of the massive corporation while our favourite big blue monster and funny one eyed guy keep the company afloat. Now while it may have its mixed opinions, I did really enjoy the first season (which also comes to the fact that Monsters Inc is my all time favourite Pixar Movie) and I have been looking forward to the new season whenever it will drop as it was supposed to be last year but all the strikes and everything made some affects on that so I can wait.

Smiling Friends season 2
And the last of the rumoured shows from this year waiting for an announcement but is confirmed for this year is the 2nd season to one of my favourite shows of 2022 (and one of the funniest and most quotable) is the 2nd season of Smiling friends. Now all we have seen so far is a tease of an episode that involves UFO's and stuff and we have some weird concepts from recent conventions but I am excited to see more adventures with Pim, Charlie, Alan, Glep and Mr Boss and all in the Smiling friends facility.

Plug in and play the game

And lastly we will be delving into some of the big game releases that are projected for release sometime this year (if some survive the year)

Jan
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown (Jan 18th)

So on the start of the big new releases of games that is releasing from the year is starting with the company of Ubisoft as they are returning to the long dormant series with the Prince of Persia with the Lost Crown. This game will be based on a new character of Sargon who is part of a warrior clan of the Immortals who must travel to the cursed city of Mount Qaf to rescue the captured Prince Ghassan. Now I think returning to a long dormant franchise may be worth it to bring some appeal back to the series that spawned the Assassins creed titles so I must ask where is their Beyond Good and Evil 2 and a new Rayman?

The Last of Us Part II Remastered (Jan 19th)
Now on the first of the remaster remakes of the year and this one comes to us in the form of the record holder for the most game of the year awards with The Last Of Us Part 2 Remastered. This will follow the plot of the original that will have Ellie and Co travelling across the US to get revenge on a Girl named Abby after they caused serious affects to those close to you and will stop at nothing to get payback. Now I do love this game and I want to give my own video on this (as well as playthroughs of both games) but this one will also come with some new added features like a survival mode and extra levels not released in the original game as lost levels so it will be worth a look into them at some point.

Tekken 8 (Jan 26th)

On the first of the fighting specific games will of course be the long awaited 8th mainline Tekken game that will follow on months from the last game and will continue the game where this father and son have a Throwing each other off a cliff or into volcano match, one practiced Satanism and there is something about fighting a professional boxing Bear and Kangaroo (well at least the bear, not sure on the Kangaroo or even the dinosaur) and I am sure it will be on the level of appeal and fun action as Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat so may be worth a play through.

Feb
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League (Feb 2nd)
Now for the game with the most divisive appeal and discussion from most of the games of this year and this is with the newest game from acclaimed studio of Rocksteady with the Suicide Squad kill the Justice League which will have you play as Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark do exactly what it says in the title by any means necessary. Now it has been mirred in drama from lack of appeal, underwhelming from the Gotham Knights game from 2 years ago and then concerning leak from a battlepass system and as a live game service but I feel that the roadmap they showed and from other elements it may turn itself around that may at first be heavily critiqued but by the end people will like it a lot more. Will definetly play the game and I am looking forward to it but from some I follow and watch, they say it is an enjoyable game and I know myself I'll have a lot of fun with it (and may delve on this with the topic of games and films and shows with a lot of debate and divide soon afterwards).

Mario vs Donkey Kong (Feb 16th)
Now for a blast to the past with an all new HD touchup as we will see the age old rivalry in the new remake of the classic Mario vs Donkey Kong. This game will see Mario travel across vast lands and play through challenging puzzles in order to obtain your specialized minis from the great ape. Now it is interesting to see the original game get a major design overhaul but hopefully we will see some big new designed release of a DK or 3D Mario sometime soon.

Skull and Bones (Feb 16th)

It will be eventually time after all of these years to be hitting the high seas as Ubisoft has finally brought their piracy game of Skull and Bones. Now you take on the role of the captain of a pirate crew and engage in high sea exploration and get into battle with many other crew to become the ruler of the 7 seas. Now the game has garnered some concern from feeling a little lacking but I am sure we will see how it will all come together soo when we can set sail for booty.

Brothers a Tale of Two Sons Remake (Feb 28th)
Now on the next appearance of some remaster and remakes is an all new remake of a new indie game from a long time ago with the remake of Brothers: A tale of two sons. Now for those that do not know the plot, it follows Two brothers in a fictional fantasy world full of orcs and trolls and will see them try and find a cure for their fathers illness. Now the game initially had a really strong positive reception and this remake will have some challenge to bring the appeal back to the games again for that appeal once more.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (Feb 29th)

Now for the continuing story of a game that released over 20 years ago and then got split into multiple games as we will see the continuing remake for Final Fantasy VII. Now this one will follow Cloud's continued journey to save his home and the world with his group to stop the all powerful Sephiroth. Now I know the first part has its appeal and while I have yet to try it out myself I will give it a look into and then if I appeal to it I will give this one a try.

March
Outlast Trials (March 6th)
Now it has been 7 years since the full release of the last game in this series and now we are returning to an all new full fledged multiplayer game with The Outlast Trials. Now this will be set before the events of the original 2 games and set in the cold war era where you are tasked with taking on some experiments that delve to the center of Insanity. Now I tried this in the early closed alpha about 2 years ago and while my pc was stuttering like a bitch, it was quite the interesting concept and it will be worth a try out on the consoles to see the difference.

Alone in the Dark (March 20th)

Now a game that has its share of adaptations in game versions with a return to the classic horror of Alone in the Dark. Now this game will follow the characters of Emily Hartwood and PI Edward Carnby as they travel to Derceto manor, a home for the mentally recieved, to investigate the disappearance of Emily's uncle of Jeremy Hartwood. Now I have seen some bits of advertising and viewings of the game and it does look pretty good and I will be giving this a look when I can for some spooky goings on in this manor.

Princess Peach Showtime (March 22nd)
Now it has been quite a common thing that a certain princess has been the one a plumber in overalls and strange powerups and it has been nearly 2 decades since they had their own spin off game lead but now the princess of the Mushroom kingdom has now released a new game with Princess Peach Showtime. This will see Peach get some new powerups from the power of some unique stage shows found in the Sparkle Theatre and defeat the Wicked Grape and the Sour Bunch and rescue all those trapped in the shows. Now I believe it is time for more new additions of the world of Mario and hopefully a game like this will do well and be really well recieved and see more into the next Nintendo Console.

South Park Snow Day (March 26th)

Now following on from 2 large RPG's and a little bit of a mobile game, we are returning to the quiet little mountain town that is now about be hit with a blizzard (and the 3d ray) with an all new multiplayer game with South Park Snow Day. This will see two warring factions go against one another in the snowball battle to end all battles to be had before they have to return to school. Now I have worries given the last time they tried a 3D south Park game it was not that well liked but it is looking good so far so we'll have to see.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2: Heart of Chernobyl (Sept 5th)

Now for the last of the games with a confirmed release date that has also seen quite a hefty amount of delays is the sequel to the Stalker series with Heart of Chernobyl. In this game you will be playing as a Lone survivor, exploring a unique post apocalyptic world and decide who will get a bullet and who will become a helping hand in this world. Now this game was supposed to be released about 2 years ago but due to the ongoing war in Ukraine by Russia, it has been hit with delays and troubles (given this initially planned development and release 12 years in 2012) but it seems to be an interesting concept and worth a try when released later this year.

Unknown Dates yet
Ark: Survival Evolved 2

Now we return to the land of ancient beasts and warfare as we have the possible release of the sequel of Ark Survival Evolved. Now it is unclear how much will be changed in this but we do know one of the big names appearing in this is Vin Diesel (which could be problematic if some allegations are to be true) that will most case make some mention of Family in English or an ancient language but I am sure we will learn more about it soon.

Avowed
Now for a new RPG from the studio that gave us Fallout New Vegas, Knights of the Old Republic 2 and South Park: The Stick Of Truth with the new title of Avowed. Seen as their answer to Skyrim, this game will be taking place in the world of Eora, in a place known as the Living Lands and you will take the control of an envoy from the Aedyr Empire, who is assigned to the living lands to investigate the mysterious plague. Now it does sound like an interesting concept and usually Obsedian make some decent games so it will be worth a look into when the game releases sometime this year.

Baby Steps
Now this game is quite the interesting and goofy narrative known simply as Baby steps. Now in this game you play as a person named Nate, a basement dweller in a onesie on a quest to walk through a misty valley and reach the top of a Mountain peak and will have you falling on your face.... a lot. The reason you may be falling is that this is made by the developers of the famous Flash Game of QWOP and the anger inducing game of Getting Over It with Bennet Foddy so you can see it is not going to be a very simple walk in the park and more of a goofy man that may be a little intoxicated but will be worth a play.

Hades 2

Now on the continuing story of a follow up to one of the best dungeon crawler Indie games of recent memory with the sequel of Hades II. Now in this one you will find yourself doing battle beyond the underworld using dark sorcery to take on the Titan of Time. Now if it is anything like the first game then I am sure that it will be just as action packed and awesome as its predecessor.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Now it is time for you to put on your denim jacket, fedora and grab your Bullwhip as we are heading on an all new globe trotting adventure with the worlds famous archaeologist with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Now this game will be set between the first and 3 Indy film and follow Dr Jones as he brought on a new adventure to find the mystery of the Great Circle and find what was the importance of the item stolen from the university stolen on the night that set him on this adventure, and do so by punching Nazi's in the face. Now this is one being developed by Machine games, the studio behind the recent Wolfenstein games and I think it does look really cool and worth a playing of when this releases sometime later in the year.

Little Nightmares 3

Now for the sequel to the series of games that may be a small little tale but have some of the biggest scares in recent memory with Little Nightmares 3. Now this one will see the newest entry where in the co-op adventure will have you playing as new characters of Low and Alone as you search for a path with the 2 of them to find a way out of the Nowhere and facing the fears of your childhood through unique puzzles and escaping dangerous creepy threats. Now I love the original 2 as being some of the scariest puzzle games I have played in a long time and Am very excited to see the creepy inhabitants from this desolate town.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

What a thrill of keep us waiting for a very long time but to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the fan favourite game, Snake is back and in an all new form of the remake with Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. Now this will see Snake on one of his first covert missions deep in the jungle where you face the embodiments of fears and emotions in some of the most dangerous Adversaries and make him the famous soldier the world has ever known. Now this is the plan to give a remake of all of the series and doing so in order that will start with this and lead up to 4 as the final entry and hopefully this will be the outcome from this being a success.

Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door HD

As for another game that has also been seeing a 20th anniversary and seen as the best in the spin off series, everyone's favourite Paper Plumber is returning to a classic release of the series in the HD remake of Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door. Now this will see Mario and Peach travelling to Rogueport in search of an ancient treasure that hold great fortune and power, but soon Peach is kidnapped by an alien race known as the x-nauts and will see Mario teaming up with colourful companions to find the treasure and save the princess. Now I have played the original and it is such a great game and love all of the games in the series, so playing this one again but on the go is all worth it when I can.

Luigi's Mansion 2 HD

But what about his taller, Greener Brother Luigi? Well it looks like we will be retuning to his year of celebrations with the highlight game of that franchise as we are getting a HD remaster of Luigi's Mansion 2. Now this game will have Luigi, equipped with Professor E.Gadd's Poltergust 3000 and travel across five manors of all types and capture ghosts and find and restore the Dark Moon, the one responsible for keeping the spirits from running rampant. Now this one is seen as the weird sequel compared to the more acclaimed original and 3rd entry but I love all of these games so playing this one again on a bigger screen is a big plus for me to play it all again.

Senua's Saga Hellblade 2

Now for something a bit more challenging and bit dark mixed together as we have the long awaited sequel to the Hellblade with Senua's Saga will be dropping in May. This will follow on the events of the first game that will see Senua being intent on saving those who had fallen to the horrors of Tyranny and must face a battle with overcoming the darkness within and without. To think that the first game was made to the deep level of detail and experience with only 20 people is amazing and hopefully it will be on the same level as the first game and I think it will be on another successful games.

Silent Hill 2 Remake
Following the success of the remakes of the original 4 games in the Resident Evil franchise, the series that launched alongside it in competition is joining that fray with the remake of the most beloved in the series with Silent Hill 2. Now this game for those unaware you play as James Sunderland, who travels to the mysterious town of Silent Hill after receiving the letter from his Dead Wife and finding out the truth if this is real or an illusion. Now the original game is one of the most scariest games from all time and the likes of playing the game you do not have much options besides paying extornionate amount for a 2nd hand copy or with the PS Plus subscription and best not to play the HD remaster and from what I have seen in visuals and gameplay it seems to be in the right direction and hopefully will be a fantastic form.

Spider-Man 2 DLC?
Now technically it is not a game in this one but rather is is the possibility of some new expansion DLC for last years Spider-Man Game (I would have also put Kill the Justice League there with the roadmap but I already mentioned the game but have mentioned it in that section). Now it has been the rumoured info about the likes of the possibility of DLC that will see possibly Daredevil and other characters appear with some more story expansions, similar to the first game and I am sure they will unveil it very soon and I feel it would make some sense to do so.

Star Wars Outlaws
now another game joining the massive Open World game experience is seeing it in a galaxy far far away with the all new game of Star Wars Outlaws. This game, set between Episode V and VI and will put you in the role of Kay Vess, a scoundrel with her companion of Nix make it an attempt to be one of the biggest heists on the Outer Rim has ever seen. Now the idea of an open world Star Wars game that will have you exploring vast planets, avoiding and taking to the outer reaches of Space to do battle and escape pursuers sounds really cool and the first bit of footage looks great and hopefully it will be a fair bit of fun to check out and explore whenever this game drops later this year.

They Are Here: Alien Abduction Horror

Now on a game that I have to ask the question for: when was the last time you remember we had a game based on Aliens. I know there was that Greyhill Incident game from last year but that was such a disappointment but this new one so far from its demos and trailers looks a little more interesting with They Are Here Alien Abduction Horror. This game will have you playing as Taylor Fox, a journalist tasked with meeting with a farming couple who have been experiencing some very strange phenomena happening around their home and nearby area and will soon discover something other worldly may be the one responsible for it all. Now there has been 2 little demos and from the visual standpoint it looks really well done and some of the creep factor is done well too and had me wondering how have we never seen an alien game in a long time and hopefully will see a return to some like this from the outcome.

Wolverine (Insomniac)?

And the final title on this list is one that is speculation from the possibility of release given it has been around 3 years since it was announced but I feel following on from their Spider-Man games that I would feel they would be well deep into the development of Wolverine. Now most case we will be playing as everyone's favourite Immortal Canadian superhero as he hacks and slashes his way through goons and enemy's in some deep story that could even see some other X-Men characters show up now and again but I guess it is up to speculation for the moment. Now it is unclear if we will see it this year or if those leaks indicated a different release but I am sure we will see a release for it real soon and I am sure we will get some more info sometime this year.

Conclusion

and after all of that, that completes the full complete list of all of my most anticipated Films, shows and games from the year of 2024 that I can think of. Sure there is some I have missed that I didn't mention that I am excited for as well and others that have yet to be announced but some can be quite the surprise and a lot of these will hopefully make a return in the form of some reviews and trailers or gameplays and all other discussions as well as appearing in my weekly news stories when they unveil trailers or news as well as when they release but at the end of the day, it is one thing that I do love seeing is some of the efforts that the likes of creatives make to release something they work hard on over many years and I love to talk about them and share with everyone that even if the content outcome is not well recieved that it could be something you may give a try and enjoy when you didn't expect it and that you can take some opinions as fact but then you may decide the only one you want to take is your own opinion and go with it and maybe some will agree, some will not but at the end of the day what you enjoy is all that matters and thats ok.

But I would like to know what are you most looking forward to from all that is coming out of 2024 and also give me your predictions of what do you feel will be the best of the year, the worst of the year, and some that I do not have on this list and tell me down in the comments below and lets discuss the reasons why or the ones I missed. As always I hope you enjoyed listening to my extensive ramblings on all things media as I love it very much so and I hope you enjoyed and as always I hope you all stay being wonderful people and have a great day everyday doing many great things and I will see's you all in the next piece :)

Take Care, Signing off
Sam H
