Hello again to each and everyone of you to quite a bumper filled episode of Weird Mind News Room where we will be delving into all of the new Releases, all of the trailer and all of the news that has come from this week. There is a lot of very exciting things to see today so without further ado let's get into the content of the week

New releases that go higher

Movies

The Marvels

So we will start off this week with the biggest release to come out of this week in terms of films as we are heading Higher, Further and Faster as we are heading on an all new place swapping cosmic adventure with the return of 3 Female heroes in The Marvels. Now the plot this time around will follow on from the events of Captain Marvel, Wanda Vision and Ms. Marvel and see Carol Danvers finally escaping the clutches of the Kree and bringing some balance to the galaxy, but when her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree Revolutionary, her powers become entangles with the heroes of Photon and Khamala Khan and they must team up and save the universe from falling apart. Now this film has been hit with some mixed reception With great praise towards the chemistry and performances of the 3 main leads (especially Ms. Marvel) but has been critiqued from its messy presentation or story and from a very weak villain, though some action, comedy and other aspects have helped it to be decently good. Now I will give this a look in the next day or 2 and you can check it out yourself as it is now out in cinemas.

Dream scenario

Now for a new trippy A24 film starring the unhinged prowess of many people's favourite actor of Nicolas Cage with this new Trippy film of Dream Scenario. Now this film is based on that concept of seeing that specific face that everyone says they have seen in their dream (a concept I have in mind for a project I want to make at some point in the future) that see Nic Cage plays every man of Paul Matthews who suddenly becomes an overnight celebrity when hundreds of people start to see him in their dreams every night, but when these dreams turn Nightmarish, he must learn how to navigate this new found fame and infamy. Now this film has been very well recieved for its concept and for one of Nicolas Cage's best performances and if you want to check it out then you can do so in cinemas now (No Sleeping necessary)

TV Shows

The Santa Clauses Season 2

Now while it is a case that we are only about 10 days past Halloween, it is surprising how the Holiday celebrations change quickly (and how I told them that we needed to keep a certain someone frozen for at least another 3 weeks) but we are heading to the North Pole for an all new 2nd season to the Santa Clauses. Now this follows on from the previous season of Scott Calvin bringing his family into the Christmas business and helping to make every Christmas better then the last but soon he must come face to face with the long banished Mad Santa who has his eye of getting rid of Scott and taking back the North Pole for himself. Now reception on this season so far has been decently recieved with its concept and Tim Allen giving a well meaningful performance as Father Christmas and if you want to check it out yourself then you can catch the first full season as well as the 1st 2 episodes with a new episode every Wednesday now on Disney+

Loki Season 2 finale

Speaking of Disney+ it is also to remind you that we have the finale to the 2nd season of Loki for you to check out and see if Loki, Mobius, OB, Sylvie and the rest of the TVA group can save the TVA and the sacred timeline from falling apart and restore balance. Now I stayed up to watch this finale and let me tell you it started off a little rushed but by the end they stuck the landing and I think it ended really strongly. Now it is unclear if we will see a 3rd season or if this will lead directly into the upcoming Marvel films and Shows (more on them later) but if you want to see how it ends you can do so now.

Video Games

Call of Duty Modern Warfare III (2023)

Alright Soldiers, its time to go dark as we have what is essentially the 2nd big release of this week and that is of course with the yearly popular series of Call of Duty with this years installment as the follow up to lasts years release with Modern Warfare 3. Now this will have Captain Price and his team shooting their way through enemies and certain locals in order for them to stop the most dangerous terrorist of Makarov. Now the reception on this has been mixed with a lot of the major complaints going towards it really bad campaign due to its length, setting and as well to their method of repeating one of the most controversial missions in COD history that involved an airport. A lot of these issues came down to the crunch on the team making it (as it was initially planned they were going to make Advanced Warfare 2 instead before it turned into this) but if you still want to check it out then you can do so on PS4/5, Xbone, Series X/S and Pc now.

Trey Magnifique Mature Situations

And just to end this weeks new releases is with the new release of an all new album of the 2nd half to a band I really enjoy (and another story they are connected with I will be talking on later) as we have the Ninja Brian himself going from Ninja to Smooth Jazz Player with his new solo Jazz album of Trey Magnifique: Mature Situations that will be a full album of very tasty Jazzy tunes to make your listening experience that much more better. Now I will be looking forward to listen to this album for a an endless amount of times to tide me over for the new NSP album and you can give it a listen on all ways you listen to music.

Reacher season 2

So to start off with the trailer for the week is that we have gotten ourselves taking matters into our own hands if those hands was some buff dude and that is what you will get with the 2nd season of the Prime series of Reacher. Now this series will focus on the plot of the 11th book in the Reacher series of Bad Lucj and Trouble and will see Reacher himself take on bad guys and the law and bring justice in his own unique form. Now I have heard the first season of this is very good and I may give it a watch and you do not have to wait long as the 2nd season to this series drops on Prime video in a month's time on December 15th. 

Mean Girls the Musical

On Wednesdays we wear pink as we have gotten ourselves an all new trailer for the upcoming retelling of the classic 2004 Teen comedy of Mean Girls, but this time in the musical approach with Mean Girls the Musical. Now it will be following the plot of the main lead getting herself involved with the Popular girls of school and learn what it means to run the place while learning the consequences along the way from doing so. Now I think the original Mean Girls is a very good film and is of course a classic. As for this It feels weird as they have 2 returning cast members of Tina Fey (who wrote and produced this film) and Tim Meadows, but I think the social media inclusion of it may make the whole thing dated very quickly but I will have to see how this turns out as you can find out yourself too when this film drops at the beginning of Next year on January 12th.

Ghostbusters Frozen Empire

When you feel a chill and it don't look good, Who you gonna call? Yes after a few weeks of a cryptic teaser and unsure of what it is called, we have finally recieved a new trailer for the next installment of Ghostbusters with this one now being subtitled Frozen Empire. Now this will see the series return to New York (and some other locations) and see the cast from Afterlife return to save the world and the city of New York from the sudden major cold snap that has Frozen the entirety of New York during a very hot summer and the Ghostbusters of Past and Present must team up and stop this chilly menace before it bring a new Ice Age to the world. Now I like the basis of it and that they are going with some new characters instead of relying on old fan favorites and seeing it go back to where it all began is very cool and it looks interesting and you can check it out and give it a call when this film releases on March 29th next year.

Avatar the last Airbender (Netflix)

Earth, Water, Fire, Air (and Money), all of these elements combine to bring us the next new trailer for us with the official first look at the next Live Action Netflix Anime/ Animation remake and this is with the popular series of Avatar The Last Airbender. Now this will follow the series that saw the nations live in harmony but it all changed when the fire nation attacked and the only hope of the Avatar was dashed when he vanished and never returned, until Sokka and Katara discover a new Avatar frozen in Ice named Aang and h must learn the powers of the other elements in order to stop the Fire Nation's reign and save the earth. Now I think that this does look pretty good and solid but I have my concerns as knowing these adaptions from Netflix they could be bad or the very rarely good exceptions, but I guess we will find out when this series begins streaming on Netflix on February 22nd.

Inside Out 2

and to end the trailers with asking the question of what is going on inside their heads as we are returning to the mind of Riley in the first official trailer for Inside Out 2. Now this new film will see Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger and Disgust learning to tackle the hardships of figuring the emotions of a now teenaged Riley and going through the stress of Puberty. And with that comes some all new Emotions to tend to including the introduction of one in particular of Anxiety with more tagging along in due time. Now I loved the first film and while people have their concerns of sequels to Pixar films, I think this one does look very exciting and I am looking forward to this and seeing what other emotions they have in mind for this film but we can soon see the feel everything movie of next year when it releases on June 14th 2024.  

Orion and the Dark

Now going from one animation studio to another we are heading over to Dreamworks animation and their collaboration with Netflix to bring an all new animated family film of what goes bump in the night with Orion and the Dark. Now this film will follow Orion, a young kid that has a fear of... well about everything, but most especially the dark. So when the embodiment of Dark takes him on a journey around the world he will show him that their is nothing to be majorly afraid of and learn how to be brave in a big scary world. Now it sounds like a decently wholesome concept and I know this is based on a children's book but it looks nice with its animation and if you want to check it out yourself it will be hitting Netflix on February 2nd next year.

Rebel Moon Part 1: A child of fire

and now to end this weeks trailers with another new trailer coming to us from Netflix and coming from the director who has a major fanbase that still hold out hopes the created superheroes universe he had planned out will still be made and that is of course Zack Snyder and with his all new sci-fi space film of Rebel moon and in particular Part 1. Now this will follow a colony on the edge of the galaxy that find themselves threatened by the arimies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, they will dispatch a women with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighbouring planets to help them take a stand. Now I think it does look really stylized and cool and have his signature trademarks of actions scenes and a lot of slow mo and we will see how it turns out when part one drops just in time for the holidays on December 22nd.

News that goes fast

Now I have become a Barbie girl, the destroyer of worlds

So we start this week of a film that is based on a concept of something that was such a big phenomenon this year. Now as you may remember July was the big month of the cinematic event known as Barbenheimer which saw on one weekend the release of 2 major films with Greta Gerwig's Barbie and Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer and both have achieved such major success with critical acclaim and both passing or just about reaching a billion dollars at the box office and I will agree both were excellent films (which I will delve into more in my reviews for these films). But today I am talking about the concept of what would happen if we combined both of these concepts into one major mashup and that is what is being discussed as we got word earlier this week we are getting a new film based on the Barbenheimer concept. Now this films plot will focus on the character of Bambi J. Barbenheimer who lives in Dolltopia and after taking a trip to the real world garners a spite towards humanity and decides to create an Atomic bomb and wipe them out. Now this is goin in the form of a B-movie horror comedy and I hope this will turn out good and well. Now not much is known on directors cast or writers, but one thing I do know for this film is that it will have songs and music and this will be written by Ninja Brian himself of Brian Whect, which to me already has my investment. If they get Danny in this film as well to do a song then I am all on this film. I am sure we'll hear more when they start production in the new year and once I hear anything I will share it with you all in a later video.

Sony's The Legend of Zelda Movie

The next story come to us in the form of the announcement of an all new adaptation from a popular series that has been in mind from being made for a very long time. Now as you remember from earlier this year, after being announced a few years ago, we finally got the animated film adaptation of the Super Mario Bros movie from Nintendo and Illumination and while their was a little in mixed reception the film was a major financial success and made over a billion dollars at the box office. But now we have another new Nintendo property getting the film treatment but not in the way of the method you expect and from a studio you wouldn't think. It was announced on Tuesday evening that we are getting a live action film adaptation of The Legend of Zelda and this is being made from Nintendo and Sony pictures (a gaming rival). Now most were thinking that the live action approach seems the most weird of it all when many (like myself) see the likes of this working more in an animated film form when they could do an excellent style type that could be like a Spider-verse animation inspiration, but this is down to Nintendo's decision who are producing it with Avi Arad, the producer mainly of the non-Spidey Sony films and being directed by Wes Ball who did the Maze Runner trilogy and the new Planet of the Apes film. Now we have not heard any casting but some keep wanting Tom Holland to play him but he is already playing 2 different video game characters of Nate Drake and presumably Jak of Jak and Daxter (I mean it could be worse as Machine Gun Kelly also wants to play Link which is the worst idea). Best option for Link is to either cast some new unknowns to give them a chance or another choice I have in mind is an adult Link played by Thomas Brodie-singster (Newt in Maze Runner, voice of Ferb) and a young link played by Walker Scobell (Percy Jackson in the new Disney+ series). Now I would have to think who would fit the bill for Zelda and Gannon but yeah it is still a weird concept.

New announcements a plenty (Shrek, Arcane and The Boys)

Now we have a mix of announcements and an announcement rumour in the pipeline that I felt it was best to lump them all in together and give some info. 

So we'll start with what we know about and that is that this week during the Netflix Geeked week conference we got the announcement that after nearly a 3 year long absence we are finally getting the long awaited 2nd season to Arcane. Now it will be another year out before we see the continuing story of Jinx and Vi but we can expect more info coming out overtime when the series will drop in November 2024.

Another piece that was also announced is that we have 2 new anime or animated adaptations being made from netflix that was also announced at Netflix Geeked week. First of is that we are getting an all new anime based on the Terminator series and set before the films. Now not much else is known on this but that it will be helmed by the writer of the recent Batman film and animated from the studio that made Ghost in the Shell (the classic anime not the controversial 2017 film).

The 2nd anime we have is another new one for the Witcher Franchise and this one has a very special aspect to it as we have also been confirmed that the voice of Geralt from the video games themselves of  Doug Cockle will be playing the character once again in this new anime film of Sirens of the Deep which will be set in the middle of Netflix's season 1 of the Witcher.

Next we are going over to the Supes as we recieved 2 new poster art pieces from Prime video of the 4th season to The Boys with a confirmation the new season is dropping in 2024. Now not much is known but it is confirmed this season will take place a few days after the Gen V finale and seems to be taking the comic story arc of Homelander running for President from the images seen here. Now I am sure we will get more clarification on what this new season will entail when it drops sometime next year

And lastly we are going back to animation and to everyone's favourite Ogre of Shrek. Now it has been known for a while that a new Shrek film was in development for a long while and now it seems that we are not far off from when we may see this 5th Shrek film. Now this is coming from an animators LinkedIn profile (name currently unknown) and it let slip he has worked on a new Shrek film and that it has a planned release date in 2025. Now this one of course is just rumoured speculation and could be nothing but we will have to wait and see if that is the case or not.

And Just to throw in one delay that wouldn't fit in the other stories but while everyone is more focused on the mess that is the Snow White Live Action film from Disney, many seem to forget their is another one and one that feels like it could be different and that is with the Lion King Prequel Sequel of Mufasa. This film was planned for a late July 2024 release but now it is being delayed all the way to mid/late December 2024 and the reason for these shift will be brought to our attention in the next post.

Grand Theft Auto gets an update

And now for the story you may have been waiting for to me to talk about and now we are talking about video games and in particular of an announcement of something so highly anticipated that people have been asking the same thing for months and years when we were getting it. Now the game I am talking about is the newest game in the Grand Theft Auto series of GTA6 and we have heard very little besides that leak from last year when the servers were breached and 100+ early build videos released to the wilds of the Internet (many people calling the game look crappie but that is what an early build looks like before a lot more details are added) but now that wait for proper first look is not too far off. Earlier this week it was announced by Rockstar that next month they are celebrating 25 years as a company and in the same post mentioned that in early December we are also getting the first trailer for GTA6. Now most speculation will most likely be at the Game awards which are on the 7th of December but it could be its own separate event. My theory was one of the weds or Thurs of Early December going off past game announcement from them on one of those days but the 7th with the game awards seems more plausible so we'll have to wait and see. All we have now is those clickbait channels making I got GTA 6 or its trailer early vids now for the next month and beyond.

Marvel getting a lot of delays

So in relation to the next story on this list, we are talking the opposite of announcements and instead we are now talking on delays for some projects and this comes in the form of the superhero group of the MCU. Now this is mainly only to do with the movies side of things and specifically for 4 films that have had some minor delays for one or two and the other a little longer so I will run through them now.

So we'll start with the only MCU film rhat will be releasing in 2024 and that is to do with Deadpool. Now his film is still releasing in 2024 but it is getting a very slight delay in release by around 2.5 months from May 3rd next year to July 26th, which was the original date for thunderbolts and possibly the delayed release date for Captain America 4.

Speaking of Cap, his new film of brave new world has gotten a delay into early next year and delayed from the July 26th 2024 date to Valentines day 2025. Now a reason for it has to do with the film needed to get extensive reshoots due to mixed to poor test audiences but we'll see how that will stick that new date now.

As for the 3rd film to get delayed and into 2025, we are looking at the anti-hero team of the Thunderbolts as it was announced of a delay of 7 months from its December 20th 2024 release to a July 25th 2025 as that has yet to resume or start production as of yet.

Last of the MCU ones to be delayed is with Blade. Now besides being confirmed with getting an R rating, the film has had some issues over the last little bit but they'll have plenty of time to work on it as the film is planned for release from Valentines to now November 7th 2025.

It is however not the only Marvel film being delayed as the 3rd film in the Venom franchise has gotten a delay from early July 2024 to November 9th 2024 so while it's only one MCU film, it is still confirmed for 2 or 3 Sony Marvel films instead.

Now personally I think this may be the best method of releasing say 1-2 MCU films a year with 1 show or vice versa or 1 of each and hopefully if it proves successful they could don it for the rest of them for the likes of a quality over quantity approach

Actors strike has finally come to an end

And now to end this weeks news with some breaking news as after over 100+ days of striking since mid July, the Sag-aftra Actors strike has officially come to an end since Thursday November 9th at 12:01am. Now the deal has gotten a major billion dollar deal that I believe is also in the same atone of the writers that it is a 3 year contract that will be renewed again in 2026 if things need soke slight increases or changes. Well I am very happy with how it all turned out and that they got what they deserve and help stop the threats and issues plaguing the industry. Now it may see some other sectors like VFX or gaming possibly having their own strikes but at the moment no plan has been made and if there is I will update in a later story but for now we can celebrate the achievement for the actors.
