Weird Mind News Room Episode 39: Nov 20th - 26th

*I wish for a song that fits a Napoleon Complex*

Hello again to all of you wonderful people (and to any American views a very happy Thanksgiving) to the all new 39th edition of Weird Mind News Room where we will be tucking into a feast of some all new releases, trailers and news stories from the media platter. Well not not just sit around hungry and lets get stuck into it.

A military worth of New Releases
Movies
Napoleon

We start this weeks new releases with an all new epic blockbuster from the director of Ridley Scott and that comes in the film of Napoleon. Now this will tell the tale of Bonaparte as we observe his perspective of his military achievements and rule over France as well as a focus on the relationship with his lady Josephine. Now initially the reception on this film had been decently recieved and since then the reviews have been a little mixed with great praise for the performances of Joaquin Phoenix and Vanessa Kirby and some of the set pieces, but a lot of mixed reception to the major amount of historical inaccuracies in the film (it has also been getting heavily criticized by French publications as it was probably expected it would) but if you want to see the achievements of one of Frances famous faces then you can do so now in cinemas

Disney's Wish

If a historical set piece is not much your thing and you prefer an animated adventure instead then you are in luck as Disney has now dropped their newest animated film of Wish. Now this will follow the new Princess of Asha who makes a wish so powerful that its answered by a cosmic force of a little Star named Star. Soon they team up to save the kingdom from King Magnifico and prove that the will of one courageous human connects with the power of the stars, wonderous things can happen. Now the reception on this film has been a bit more mixed to low recieved as people see it as a disappointing film to coincide with the 100th anniversary of Disney and a bit too generic and disappointing music, though has been given to performances and animation and if you want to check it out yourself you can so in cinemas

TV Shows
Squid Games the challenges

If someone came to you and offered a way to fix your money debts with a strange symbol card? Well then this next show will be all for you as we now have the release of an all new reality show based on the Netflix hit with Squid Game the challenges. This series will see 456 contestants go against one another in a series of challenges based on the hit South Korean show all for the chance of winning 4.56 Million dollars (the biggest prize pool in television). Now reception has been decently recieved although their has been some legal issues from some of the contestants due to the harsh conditions with some suffering hypothermia and other ailments but we'll keep an eye on how that turns out. For you if you want to check it out yourself, the first 5 episodes are available to stream with a new episode every Wednesday on Netflix

Games
Nickelodeon all star Brawl

Have you ever wanted to fight a cartoon based godzilla parody, a boy genius with a big head and a sponge while playing as a Lasagna loving cat that can't be played on Mondays (this was an actual feature) then look no further as the last of the releases this week is an all out brawl with Nickelodeon all star brawl 2. This is the sequel to the 2021 game that will see some more new and improved gameplay, characters and story for you and friends to Duke it out in many locations across the Nickelodeon shows and series. Now reception on this game has been pretty positive with many claiming it has improved and fixed issues from the last game and if you want to play yourself it is now available for PS4/5, Xbox One/X/S, Switch and PC.

Wishing for trailers
TED the tv series (the bear not the talks)

The first trailer is one that was actually released at the end of last week but was only noticed after recording but this will help you cast your mind back to a decade ago when there was an adult comedy film about a man and his Teddy bear, a bear that sounds a lot like Peter Griffin and this was of course Ted. Now that foul mouthed bear is back again with an all new series simply titled TED. Now this series will be set just in the early part of the first film in the early 90s and see Ted's early days with Johnathon and some misadventures overtime (could be some present day stuff as well). Now it does sound interesting and hopefully it will be good and we can find out if it is when the series starts release on January 11th next year.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom
And now for some more superhero discussions and the only one for this week with an all new look into the king of Atlantis's next adventure as we have gotten another new trailer for the upcoming Aquaman sequel with Aquaman and the lost kingdom. Now this time around we are jumping 5 years from the last film and will see Arthur Curry balancing being a new dad as well as being the King of Atlantis but when Black Manta returns vowing revenge and wanting to destroy Aquaman for the death of his father, he will soon team up with his imprisoned brother Ocean master and must unite the 7 seas in order to stop a common enemy and save the world . Now I know there is so much to this from certain actresses being kept in the film and it being an unlinking dead end timeline and all other factors, I think that this looks decently entertaining and am hoping it is good and we can find out when this film releases in under a months time on December 22nd (also you can now book tickets for it if your interested)

Wallace and Gromit the Grand Getaway VR
wahey cracking good VR experience Gromit as we are heading to an all new way to check in on our favourite claymation inventor and his loyal dog companion as we have an all new adventure with Wallace and Gromit in the Grand Getaway. Now this new VR experience will see Wallace and Gromit creating an all new form of crazy golf as we see them blast off into the cosmos and plays probably the front and back 9 on many a strange planet. Now this looks like quite the fun little adventure to experience in a Virtual world and you'll be able to experience it yourself soon when it will release for the Meta Quest and other VR headsets.

Karate Kid (2024 cast call)

And to wrap up a week of some very quiet trailer week, this isn't any footage but rather in the form of an announcement trailer as it seems we have gotten an all new trailer to announce an all new adaptation of the Classic Karate Kid. Now from this announcement trailer doesn't show anything but it does seem to be a case it will maybe connect to both the original films (and possibly Cobra Kai) and the 2010 remake as Both Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan will be making an appearance in this film. Besides that they seem to be looking for that person to become the next face of the Karate Kid and are holding open auditions to find them and if you have what it takes and fit they are looking for you can follow the link in the trailers description for it. Besides that not much else but we will see how it all turns out when this releases in December of Next year.

News of the Battle

No clay gromit, not a bit in the studio
So we'll start this weeks stories with a return to something already discussed this week and that is with Wallace and Gromit's studio of Aardman. Now as you have known from my other videos where I have mentioned them, they have been the studio that have shown that you can still make very entertaining films using stop motion Claymation, but it may be the case that it could be in trouble soon as it has been discussed that the company or factory that would supply the studio with clay has apparently shut down and their is a growing concern that their next project (which is a new Wallace and Gromit film expected for sometime next year) may be the last project that they'll have enough clay for. Now they have come out and made a statement that they appreciate the concern but have specified that they have plenty on reserve from some of the older projects that can be reused and they seem to be ok for the time being. Now whether this is just to reduce any worry or concern for the Bristol based company but I am sure that overtime if they run out they may see the end or some new company will come along and save the day, but we'll see how accurate the story really is soon.

But what do you think of all of this news and do you believe that they are fine with the amount of clay with their benefactor supplier out of business? Let me know what you think of it down below in the comments.

When you don't get Batman or Superman, you become an evil billionaire instead
Now for some casting news that have been floating around the interwebs for the last few days and this comes in the form of casting for the upcoming release of Superman Legacy from DC. Now this film has gotten quite a heavy cast already been building from the new Gunn directed, produced and written piece and one of them that has been discussed from this week is that it would eventually lead to the casting reveal of one of supermans famous villains of Lex Luthor and this casting may be coming in the form of Nicholas Hoult. Now Hoult is not new to the superhero scene as he has already played a character for the Fox's X-man series as the young Beast in Days of Future Past, but he has been trying to step in for the role of a big name hero as he had initially been one of the final 2 choices in the Matt Reeves Batman choice as well as initially one of the final choices for this films Superman so he always gets runner up and I think that he could do a great performance of the billionaire. Now it is the concern that it can either be really good of a choice or it can end up in some weird odd social network choice like Jesse Eisenburg as a Lex Luthor the 2nd in Dawn of Justice and it is just speculation now and until it is confirmed we will have to wait and see.

But what are your opinions on this casting and do you think he'll do a great performance as Lex Luthor or do you see someone else play him? And what is your favourite performance of Hoult's? Let me know all your thoughts and opinions down below

Filoni will now control the Star Wars
And now we shall head to a galaxy far, far away as we talk on the major franchise of Star Wars. Now as you know over the last few years we have seen a big amount of Star Wars content that we have had one new piece every year since 2015's Force Awakens with 5 films and with about 10 shows with many more of both coming along over the next few years. Now it has not been all perfect and hots as while some made major profits, it had their issues like many divided by the last 2 in the Skywalker Saga and some of the series feeling underwhelming to many fans and has been a divide among many. But besides the point a lot of these projects would have some established names involved with Kathleen Kennedy overlooking it all and 2 of the big names making content for this universe is Jon Faverau and Dave Filoni, the latter of which we are talking about today. It was announced earlier this week that Filoni will now be the lead chief creative officer for Lucasfilm and the Star Wars brand given he has helped create most of the hit content in recent memory for the series with Mandalorian with Faverau, Ashoka and Clone Wars and Bad batch so he has a good eye for the universe. Now whether he'll make all the upcoming titles exciting like the Acolyte and Skeleton Crew and the upcoming films anticipated and great as it seems the galaxy is needing to find some good balance again and hopefully they'll be the one to do so.

But what are your thoughts on this new role for Filoni and do you think he will help make it more anticipated or is Star Wars in that odd spot of being a possible lost cause. Let me know all your thoughts on it below and lets have a discussion about it all.

Do you like making comments and lose being in scary movies
Now we shall head over the land of horror and to the slasher side of things as we talk on news relating to the franchise of that black cloak, mask wearing killer of Ghostface in Scream. Now the franchise has enjoyed quite the success over the last near 3 decades that it has been present on screen with the 2 new revival films of Scream 5 and 6 being both well recieved and getting some decent box office (a title they would've held onto if it wasn't for an animatronic bear and his gang) and it had been discussed after the release of Scream 6 earlier this year that theor was a planned 7th film in the franchise, but it looks a little like those plans may be in trouble as it seems there has been some casting issues and mainly comes down to the 2 new leads from the revival of Melissa Barerra and Jenna Ortega. Now with Barerra, it was not more unavailable but rather the case that earlier this week she was fired from the upcoming 7th film in the franchise. The reasoning for this was due to some social media posts about the current conflict in Israel-gaza and due to some views on it it has been let go from the film. Now I haven't seen any of the posts myself so I can't really get the scope of what she said but I understand the case that it is a touchy subject to talk about right now so I guess we'll learn more later. As for Jenna, there seems to be 2 reason for not returning as the first one would relate to nor be available in solidarity with her co-star and then the other reason is relating to the next story which is she has some scheduling conflicts with the filming of the next season of Wednesday to make it a hassle to do both at the same time. Now it has put the film in a bit of a situation and it has been reported they are now trying to get Neve Cambell back to return to the franchise to end it possible as she wasn't in 6 due to some unfair payment methods. This has caused quite a divide with some even starting a hashing of boycott Scream 7 but it is hard to see how this will turn out and I am sure we will learn more soon when any more updates come along.

But I want to know your own thoughts on all of this, do you feel the decision is justified or a little overblown and what are your own thoughts on the recent Scream films and are you interested in Scream 7? Let me know about everything in the comments down below.

The Addams family are heading to the Irish shores
And to end the stories for the week I am of course relating back to the previous story as I had mentioned about the acting CV of one Ms Jenna Ortega. I did mention the case that their was 2 stories going about of why she was not returning for Scream 7 and that is of course the other latter piece that she has some scheduling conflicts with her other big project piece of Wednesday as it has been confirmed that a 2nd season was confirmed and that they plan to start filming it sometime early next year, but that's not the whole story. It has been brought to attention that they are moving the setting for this new season for better cost, aesthetic and some new change of scenery as it is not going to be filmed in Romania but now instead heading over to film in Ireland, which makes sense for some more ancient historical setting and a lot of fantasy and historical pieces have been filmed on these shores so all is welcome in that front (also just checking given I'm from Ireland, if to say there is any extra or other roles going, I'll gladly be some kind of Weird wolf looking human or something from my hairiness but just throwing it out there). I am sure we'll hear nore about it all overtime and when we do I'll update in a later video with any info if release or set photos or something

And what are your own thoughts to it all and are you excited for season 2 and would love to know your opinions of the first season? Let me know what you think of it all down below in the comments below

And with all of that, that brings us to the end of the 39th episode of Weird Mind News Room and I hope you enjoyed all of the chin waggling throughout it all. Let me know as always of all your thoughts on releases trailers and news and as always stay being wonderful people and have a great day everyday doing many great things :)
