Well hello again to all of you wonderous wonderful people to this little corner of the information superhighway of Weird Mind News Room where this week is a bit here and there in terms of content provided as we have a selection of News Releases, A trailer or 2 (though that may change with an event that is happening this week) and the odd news story as well in there too, but lets not delve too much on the focus of teasing it and lets get to talking on all things media for this week.

Karate Kid Legends
So the first of the 2 releases for this week is with the focus of honing your skills, sharpening your senses and learning the ways of arts of fighting, and when it seems that sometimes the old ways may not be enough or one may be too weak to control, it will bring the focus of masters of Past and present to combine together in order for them to create something new and hone the skills in this new era as the fighters of the past come together to train the future of the arts as we have the all new entry in the popular Karate Kid series with Karate Kid Legends. The film will follow kung fu prodigy Lee Fong who after moving to New York with his mother struggles to try and fit in with his classmates. When a new friend needs help, Lee enters a karate championship - but his skills alone aren't enough but when he gets the aid of both Mr Han and Daniel La Russo, he soon learns to merge two styles into one for the ultimate martial arts showdown. Reception on this new entry of the franchise has been hit with a fair bit of mixed reception that while praise for some of the story and character dynamics are present in the project, the film is lacking in a cohesive focus with pacing and lack of fighting action and the focus of the tentpole actors for this movie don't have much of a presence until about halfway through, though some may see the appeal of the project overall, but if you want to see the film for yourself then you can catch this new film out now in cinemas.

Elden Ring Nightreign
The 2nd new release of the week is taking us back to the vast dangerous lands, the realm of the lost and damned, roamed by those that they called the tarnished, but in this instance a new threat and a plague has swept the land and in this instance, you will not be taking this on alone, as From Software is returning to their acclaimed title in the series of the important approach of Git Gud but doing it as a team as we have the release of the new title of Elden Ring Nightreign. The game is set as a prequel and in a seperate timeline of the original title with the title set in a new alternate land known as Limveld, where you will take on the role of the Nightfarers as you head on a quest with 2 others in order to gather resources and grow stronger by the day and then take on fierce creatures and bosses at night over the course of a few days in order for you to have what it takes to defeat the night king and restore the lands to peace. Reception on the title seems to be decenly recieved with praise to the visuals and concept gameplay, though some of the function like the co-op aspect and lack of other appealing features has brought a lot of mixed appeal and opinion to the fandom and it could get a chance of finding appeal in due time but I am sure we will learn more about it, but if you want to play it for yourself then you can play this new title now on PS4/5, Xbox One/ Series X/S and PC.
Trailers of exploration and mystery
Pixars Elio
So the first of the trailers for this week is bringing us to the realms of the deep far reaches of space for a new cosmic adventure that when the universe called out to find life in the universe, they picked up the call and may be a bit of an odd choice but its what they wanted, as we have a new and final trailer look at the new original film from one of my favourite studios with the trailer of Pixar's Elio. The film will follow the titular Elio, an 11 year old with an obsession with aliens and a very active imagination. So, when he is beamed up to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization with representatives from galaxies far and wide, Elio's all in for an epic undertaking where he is mistaken as the leader and ambassador of Earth, form new bonds with eccentric Alien Lifeforms and also navigate a crisis of intergalactic proportions. Now I know there is a case that some see the likes of Pixar has lost their appeal overtime with their projects, from the likes of some seeing the heavy amount of sequels from the last decade to many seeing it lose the appeal of original concepts compared to their classics of the early days but I still see so much appeal with their originals and even their sequels that I find more of an appeal and entertaining factor from this studio compared to some of the projects from the big studio that controls them and I still feel this one will have its appeal with it as I think visually it looks amazing like all of Pixar's other films, it has that appeal of heart and hopefully the humour will be in there as well and I hope people will give some love to more original titles as well in there too and I am looking forward to checking this out in due time and it is not too long away either as the film will be releasing in about 3 weeks time on June 20th.
The Thursday Murder Club
As for the 2nd trailer for this week, there will be a fair few for this week for one streaming service due to a certain event that took place this weekend, but the first one came before the event and shows that even when their is a grisly murder that may occour, there is always a way to solve a case, no matter how old the ones trying to solve it are, as we have recieved the first teaser trailer for the upcoming series of the popular recent mystery novel series of The Thursday Murder Club. Based on the first novel in the franchise, the film will follow a group of amateur Septuagenarian sleuths who love to tackle and solve cold cases in their comfy retirement home that consists of a former spy, a former nurse, a former trade union official and a former psychiatrist. But when an actual murder takes place in their local area, they will soon step up to the challenge and take on the case before the killer strikes again. So it is a case that I have read some of this novel and I will finish it but I love the concept idea of a group of elderly people in a retirement home banding together as a group of murder mystery lovers who end up having to deal with some proper cases themselves and knowing the big name talent in front and behind the camera, I think from the small glimpse shown so far has me very interested and excited and hopefully will be an entertaining and respected adaptation and we do not have to wait long for this either, as this first mystery will be heading onto Netflix from the 28th of August.
Guillermo Del Toro's Frankenstein
So on the basis of some of the big ones to come out of the TUDUM event for Netflix (there is 2 others I had in mind but will leave to News for reasons I will get into over there), the first I want to focus on is one of possibly the big releases to come from the end of this year as it is the creation of a man made monster and the man that will have him travel down a twisted path for the purpose of playing god and with the focus of this films creation by a master of creature features, its a match made in heaven, as after a bit of time of anticipation, we have finally recieved the first trailer for Guillermo Del Toro's take on the classic monster film of Frankenstein. The film will be set in Easter Europe in the 19th Century and will follow Dr. Pretorious who will be on a mission to track down Frankenstein's Monster - believed to have died in a fire 40 years ago, in order to continue and honor the experiments that were created by the former Dr. Frankenstein himself. If there was anything that Del Toro knows to do, it is to really give a strong and appealing vibe and just most of his projects in the area of the creature features, original or the classics, it is always something to check out and this one does look really great and I am excited to check it out. Now there is no official date as of yet but you will see this come back to life on Netflix sometime in November.
Happy Gilmore 2
Now for the only other film trailer from TUDUM I can give a focus on this week is one seeing us heading back out on the Fairways, getting a bit of the lays of the land and for one specific individual that when the aggression or the stress gets to them, all they need to do is to go back to their Happy place, as it seems Happy is back after all of this time as we have recieved a new full trailer for the upcoming sequel to Happy Gilmore. The film sees Gilmore make a return to the sport that he first stumbled into over 30 years ago and looking to get back out on the course to help pay for his daughters Ballet lessons, but things will not be as simple as he will soon be dealing with his own anxieties, all new professional golfers and a return of his old rival of Shooter Mc Gavin. So I do like the original a fair bit of the classic appeal of being one of Sandler's best classic comedies and the new one in focus does not seem to bad from what I have seen so far as it seems to have the appeal, a bit of the comedy and some entertainment value to it all, and while the comedy is a little too much of the similar jokes to the original, I do hope that we will see this bring some appeal and be very entertaining and I hope it turns out good and it is not too long away as the film will be teeing off onto Netflix from July 25th.
Squid Game season 3
The last of the trailers that I will have in focus from TUDUM is a return to the games of the past that have a whole more of a violent twist to it all, a deep conspiracy and people on the inside and out looking to take it all down before anymore bloodshed is spilled all for the purpose of massive cash prizes as its a case with any game, they all come to an end eventually as we have recieved a new trailer for the upcoming final season of Squid Game. In this season, we will see the continuing fight led by Seong Gi-Hun and the players face off against even more deadlier games, which all have some more dire consequences then the last, while In-Ho welcomes the VIPS back to the island for the final events while his brother of Jun-Ho continues the search for the hidden island, while unaware of a traitor amongst his team. It is to say that when they have an established series done well and not milking it to death with so many countless seasons and series and going way too long can appeal a lot and I can tell from this new season that it looks like the stakes and appeal of this series are about to really take off with so many serious games in focus and after ending the last season on a very bloody cliffhanger, this season is going to be quite the appealing thing to see what these last 3 games entail and I hope that some of the characters we have grown attached to from the last season will make it out alive and I am excited to see how this will all come to an end and it is not too far away as well as the final season will be releasing on Netflix in just under a months time on June 27th.
Gen V Season 2
And for the final trailer I can give in focus for this week, is heading over to another popular streamer and for the basis of seeing an all new semester for some gifted individuals, but with the sudden and drastic change of the series that started and spawned this series just occouring over a year ago, it will be a lot to witness and see what will come from this new semester under a new reigning rule of Supes, as we have recieved the first trailer for the 2nd season of the spin off to the Boys of Gen V. The 2nd season of this series will follow on from the events of season 4 of the Boys with the US now under the rule of Homelander's Reign, it will see Marie and the rest of the inmates return to the school of Godolkin after the affects of the attack on the school of the first season, with a new dean having taken over looking to turn Supes into Soldiers. Soon with the threat of a war on the brink of breaking out between humans and Supes, the team will soon discover a program that will possibly change everything. Now I remember watching the full series of the Boys and Gen V last year up to the release of Season 4 of the original and I enjoyed this spin off a fair bit with the focus of some of these young upcoming heroes learning to hone their powers and become part of something greater in a world of heroes getting their powers by V and I am insterested and wondered how this will explain the passing of one of the actors who died before the 2nd season finished filming and the other is how the effects of the last season of the main series will affect this one and I am interested to see this more dark twist that will near lean too close to reality (minus the heroes in costumes) and I am excited to check this out and thankfully we have a release date for this as well and will be releasing on Prime Video in about 3 months time on September 17th.
News that may be a mixed amount of spellbounding
A new Boy who lived and the kids who must be protected from online and the author
So we will start the first story off for this week is the announcement of some casting news and this one was a long time wait and expecting response for something that I have many times have said in the last little while has been something that was unnecessary and that is of course with some new casting for the upcoming HBO tv series adaptation of the Harry Potter series. Now we have already talked on the franchise with back on the 100th video episode of this series, I talked on the confirmed castings for some of the professors that will be reoccouring and the confirmed casting of the 1st season antagonist (as well as going in on the author for her twisted ways and will mention her once more in a moment) and it seemed quiet for a little bit more of the time, but that all changed this week as after initially having the huge casting call at the end of last year and over 32,000 applicants made the call to have the chance, we were finally announced and unveiled on Tuesday of this week, they announced the confirmed young actors that will play Harry, Ron and Hermione in the series and it is now confirmed that Scottish actor Dominic McLaughlin will portray Harry, young British actress and theatre star Arabella Stanton will portray Hermione and British Actor Alastair Stout will portray Ron. Now I think that all of them have been greatly chosen and give such a vibe and appeal in the look and tone to the characters of the books and the looks of the original trio from all those years ago and I do hope the one thing I will say is that I hope that they will be protected from the sudden new fame they will experience as well as some online disdain, which has already been seen toward the young actress playing Ms Granger as it comes down to complaints of her having slightly fairer and tanner skin (and many vile comments have appeared on some of these posts announcing this which is really not on). Now I do see that she has had some previous acting experience as it was not the only magically gifted child she has played as she was the West end lead in the Matilda Musical as Matilda Wormwood and has proven she was clearly right for the role and I will see how they will turn out and hopefully will see success overtime for them. Now again it is to say I still see the series as completely unnecessary and could've focused on some more expansive part of the universe created instead in focus, but that would also be a bit of a dent cause of the woman that created the series and her very vile opinions on some people (and will have to say one thing, I don't agree with her opinions and I see Trans People as people and should deserve respect as well) and the fact she is setting up some organization or charity thing that will go against these people is so sickening to me. I wonder if there is a way to set up an organization that has a method to tell her to go fuck herself, protect Trans people and take the rights and license away from her in the process so its out of their evil hands and can be liked again, but I guess it is just a thought in my head at the end of the day. Now in the process as well it remains to be seen if we will get the casting of the other kids in focus of the series but I am sure we will see in due time and see when they start filming shortly for this series.

The release of some new Propane accessories, Dead men dates, Pocket monster and uʍop ǝpᴉsdn ƃuᴉuɹnʇ
Now for the 2nd story for this week is with the focus of a small selection of release date announcements coming to us for some upcoming mixed media including a film, some shows and a game and we will give a quick delving into what they are and when you can expect to check those out too.
So the first we will talk on was with a return of a series that was popular many years ago and is joining the cavalcade of animated classics getting the reboot revival treatment and this next one comes in the form of a new revival of the popular series of King of the Hill as along with the unveiling of the new updated opening credits for this next season, it also came with the announcement that this upcoming season has a release date of August 4th on Disney+ and HULU. Now I have not seen a lot of this show but I have seen some bits and know of some bits and pieces and I am sure I will give it a look in due time but I am sure it will be interesting to see how they will implement some more modern stuff into this as well as a now adult Bobby and wonder if that Boy is now right but we will see how it comes about when the new season releases in 2 months time.
So next we head to the console area and while we wait for the release of the new console from Nintendo in a few days, we do have a release date of one of their upcoming titles that will be having you catching them all real soon as it was announced earlier this week that we now have a release date for the upcoming new Pokemon Legends game of Z-A with it now having a release on October 16th. Now this will be releasing on both Switch 1 and 2 with different visuals and features for both and if you onw the Switch 1 edition and upgrade, I am sure it will not be too pricey (and given the announcement from this week, if you have the Switch online + Expansion Pass option, the upgrade may be available at no extra cost)but I am sure it will be an appeal to play this new title and going off a friend of mine who I got them the last entry of Arceus, I am sure they may appeal to return to this one in the future but we will see in due time.
Now for this next one I could've added into trailers from TUDUM, but the reason I didn't for this one was because the trailer itself barely had much of the footage for the upcoming season and consisted mostly of footage of the last few seasons itself, but I felt I will at least discuss the show here as amongst all the announcements of the Netflix event, we did also get the release date schedule for the upcoming 5th and final season of Stranger Things which will now be split into a 3 part release (which is starting to get a little bit tedious with splitting seasons up on this streamer). It was announced that volume 1 of the season will drop on November 26th (likely Thanksgiving), Vol.2 will be releasing on Christmas and then the series Finale of the entire show will be dropping on New Years Eve, making a return to the Upside down be the conclusion of the end of the year and leading to a hopeful future of the following year the next day. Now I do hope that the appeal and some hope that the season is not too overblown, too many more characters are introduced and characters actually return to some decent character development soon and not end up as a mess but I am sure we can discuss on this season in due time and in the trailers section, once they have something to show of the final season but we will see in due time.
And the last one was also coming to us from TUDUM and the reason for not being in the trailers is the rule on the length of the trailer itself but after wondering and speculating and when I would hear the return of that southern Twang, we finally got the answer as it was announced the official release date of the 3rd film in the Knives out series of Wake Up Dead Man will be having its release this Christmas as well with a release date confirmed for December 12th as well as the confirmation of the names of the characters and actors in focus for this season. Now I have been very excited to see this as I love the original and had recently rewatched Glass onion not too long ago and I am all set for another new mystery that set to be a lot more darker then the past and I am all for another mystery this Christmas. Now I do hope for one thing and that is that we will see this get a theatrical release before it drops on the streamer but I am sure we will see in due time if they will go along with it but hopefully they do (along with Frankenstein and even Thursday Murder Club and Happy Gilmore 2) but all we can do is wait and see.

A Hodge Podge of hero news and rumours and one that helmed it before
Now this last story is going to consist of a selection of stories that will at first focus on all the rumours or some confirmed news about the realm of superheroes and the last bit of the story, may not be superhero related, but is related in the form of the creator and start of this project were part of the superhero affair not too long ago and we will get to them in due time, so lets delve into it.
So we will start in the focus of the film that we know is confirmed a release date and also has a massive focus and the next after this upcoming first family and that is with everyone's favourite friendly neighbourhood Spiderman. Now after the release of Fantastic 4 next Month, it will now be a year gap before we will see the next film outing from the MCU (initially it was going to be Doomsday but they have delayed it last week to Christmas next year) and in the basis of this upcoming 4th Spidey film there is a lot of conflicting rumours floating about of what we can expect and I will try and go through all of them now in a quick succession. So first off like the previous films, it is not going to be just Spidey teaming up on his own as there has also been a case that he will be crossing paths with another hero and that is with the character of the Hulk. According to some rumoured sources, it is seen as the case that Hulk or Banner may still know about Peter's identity like in the comics when everyone forgets him and also the case that it may be a Spidey vs Hulk film, which will lead into a possible big event film for the giant green anger machine (which has been discussed about a rumoured new Hulk film that will have him and She-Hulk appear in that and be seen as a World War Hulk story as well). Now it is a case it may be a case of him retuning more to the aggressive side by the manipulation of the villains that are rumoured to appear in this title with the rumoured ones right now are stemming for 4 or 6 and they are Scorpion (which was teased all the way back in Homecomings Mid credits scene), Boomerang, Arachnid, Mr Negative, an unknown female Villain that is rumoured to be eying Nicole Kidman for the role and the last one rumoured to tie into the Hulk appearing is the Green Goliath, but in the basis with all of these rumoured villains and hero team up is anyone's guess (as was another element of Peter teaming up with the Punisher to take down the Hulk too). Now likely guess of these villains ties into the name of this film as Brand New Day is seen as a bit of a controversial storyline and some of the villains have been teased from being introduced in that comic line and teased for a bit of time and I can see the appeal of some working. Now as I mentioned these are all rumours for now and I will take any of these with a grain of salt but once I hear anything about this project I will update in a later episode.
Now the 2nd piece of the superhero or superhero adjacent news is with this next story initially planned as an interactive piece but with a recent shake up it is looking like it unlikely to happen as it was announced that the planned Black Panther game being made by a studio that was a subset of EA has been cancelled and the studio that was making it has been shut down from the recent Layoffs from the company. Now this is not the only game to get the shelving from the studio as it was also the case that another studio saw some closure and layoff and led to the cancellation of a Titanfall game that was in the works as well. It is a shame that it seems like nearly every original solo game from this studio gets the short end of the stick, yet it seems like the copy paste sports titles seem to avoid any issues and pump out the same thing every year when it is shown that when they release content that's original and not a sports title it appeals, like one of this years best games of Split Fiction (which is already getting a film adaptation and one of the confirmed stars for it already I believe is Sydney Sweeney). Now they have said it is not the last of the Marvel collaboration as they have specified that their is still 3 Marvel games they are working on with the game that is on the way first being focused on Iron Man, but I do hope that their is a chance that this one could be revived and released cause the concept for a game with this character would be really appealing. But for now we will have to see how this goes and if any changes occour I will offer in later installments down the line.
Now the last story does not relate to superheroes but it does have a focus of some of the cast appearing in the properties of Marvel and the director and main star worked together on one of the most beloved in the MCU and this has to do with discussion on one of this years best films and that is with Sinners from Ryan Coogler. Now it has been seen that this has been one of this years success stories with a Original opening weekend best since 2019's Us from Jordan Peele, a unheard of 6% box office drop in the 2nd weekend and one of the most profitable movies of the year and best reviewed as well and it being a one off original is something you love to see... or so it is rumoured to be too good to be true. Now the last few days there has been a sense of discourse that a possible sequel to this movie is in the works and the studio of Warner Bros is looking to make one with or without its lead stars or From Coogler and I think them doing that already spells disaster. Personally it does not need to have a sequel or spin off of any kind and keeping it as a one off original film is more then enough. Sure there is probably a case of doing a prequel of the brothers of Smoke and Stack of their time fighting in the trenches of WW1 or their time in Chicago working for the mob or even a focus to the main villain of Remmick and his past (and the bit of the Irish Roots could be told) but in all sense to leave it alone as it is. Now it seems to be a case that WB has now shot down the reports of a follow up, as does Coogler, who in a unique and rare deal has control for any sequels, spinoff and the original itself, so likely it comes down to his control and hopefully it stays as a single entity, but like I have said with the other parts of this story, once I hear anything I will update in a later story. (Also a review for this movie will be coming for this one soon as well, not sure how long either)
