Weird Mind News Room Episode 40: Nov 27th - Dec 3rd

*This song is most likely come on Eileen*

Hello again to each and everyone of you wonderful people to the 40th episode of Weird Mind News Room as we have a bit of a mixed collection of New Releases, Trailers and News that has come out of this week as we head into the festive period and see what is in store but lets not waste anymore time and lets get to it all from this week.

New releases of various Degrees

Movies
Eileen

So we start off this weeks new releases with an all new psychological thriller with two leading ladies, one well known and one very up and coming with the new film of Eileen. Now this film is set in 1964 Massachusetts and follow Eileen (Thomasin McKenzie) a young secretary who becomes enchanted by the new prison counselor Rebecca (Anne Hathaway) where their budding relationship takes a twisted turn when Rebecca reveals a dark secret. Now the reception has been very strongly recieved and praise towards the 2 main leads and feel something unique and intense and if you want to check it out yourself then you can do so now in cinemas.

Candy Cane Lane

And with timing for this release is we are getting a little festive as we have an all new Holiday film with Candy Cane Lane. This new film will see Eddie Murphy make a deal with a mischievous elf who casts a magic spell to make the 12 Days of Christmas come to life. Now the reception on the film is a bit more mixed as some find it charming, other find it a little uneven in its genre focus, but if you want something with a little bit of a festive cheer then I am sure this is not a bad choice and you can check it out now on Amazon Prime.

Renaissance: A film by Beyoncé

And the last of the films for this week is taking a page out of a certain T.Swift's book as the Queen B herself has gotten an all new film ready to go with an all new Renaissance: A film by Beyoncé. Now this new Documentary style film will focus on her development of her recent 2023 World tour as well as the coinciding with her 7th Studio Album of Renaissance. Now the film similar to Taylor Swift's Era tour film has also been getting massive praise for its presentation and output and if you want to check it out for yourself, it is now released in cinemas.

Video Games
Batman Arkham Trilogy

Now for vengeance, now for the Night, its now time for Batman as after a short delay, we have finally gotten the release of the all port of the acclaimed Batman Arkham Trilogy. Now this of course will include the full games and all their DLC for the Arkham Asylum, City and Knight all in one package and be able to play on the go. Now the reception on this game port has been decently recieved so far however there has been its issues specifically with Arkham Knight which has noticed some rough frame rate drops and some slight visual downgrades in that one in particular, however the other two have worked great (so similar in vain to Arkham Knight's 2015 PC launch and am sure update patches will be along shortly) but I will probably still pick this up and you can too as it is now available on Nintendo Switch.

Walking Dead Destinies

And to end this new release section we have an all new game in the never ending series of Walking Dead with Walking Dead Destinies. Now this new game will have players take control of characters from the early era of the original series and let them shape out how the games narrative plays out with it being a lot different to the original show. Now this game has been heavily panned for its inconsistency, character models, enemy types and lack of appeal and made by the same publisher of Game Mill and like its other games of Avatar: Quest for Balance and Skull Island: Rise of Kong has been dubbed as one of the worst games of this year. But if you want to sit through all of this mess then you can do so now on PS5, Xbox series X/S and Switch and PC now.

Trailers for a lovely Day

South Park Snow Day
So we start the trailer from one I forgot about last week as we head to a quiet little mountain town in the midst of a blizzard as we have an all new trailer for the upcoming new 3d multiplayer game of South Park Snow Day. Now I believe this connects possibly to the recent Ubisoft games where you will take on the role of the new Kid in an all out brawl with 2 different factions to become the ruler of the lands during the heavy snow day before you have to return to school. Now it does look decent and fun and the only thing I'll need to get used to is it being in 3D model form as the last 3d South Park games were not the most popular but I am sure how it will all turns out when this game releases sometime next year.

Ted the Series
Now following on from the small teaser last week we have gotten ourselves a proper trailer for the upcoming new prequel series based on the talking foul mouth teddy bear of Ted. Now this series will be based before the events of the first film and see Ted and Johnny exploring the struggles of High School, Drugs, Relationships and all other hijinks while growing up in the 90s. Now I did like the 2 Ted films and I do hope that this series turns out good and quite funny and I am sure we can find out more when this series supposedly drops on January 11th but could be a little while after over here but most case early 2024.

Money Heist: Berlin
And now it is time to gear up for a heist as Netflix brings us the all new remake of the classic Spanish series la Casa de Papel with Money Heist: Berlin. Now this series will focus on the character of the eccentric and out of touch Berlin as he brings together a gang of master thieves in Paris to plan one of the most ambitious robberies ever executed. Now it seems to have that appeal of the original series and will probably turn out well and we can find out as the new series drops new episodes from the 29th of December this year.

Suicide Squad Isekai

Now for something a little familiar but in a new style and strange new world as we have gotten an all new trailer for the upcoming Anime of Suicide Squad Isekai. Now for the basis of this new series will see characters like Harley Quinn, Joker, Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface, King shark and many more finding themselves transported into a strange and vibrant new world full of weird and odd looking creatures and must find a way to get home within a set time limit before they end up having the chips in their heads set off and cause them to explode. Now it seems really flashy, animated well and looks really interesting and I will be giving this a look and you can as well when this releases sometime next year.

Fallout

Now for one I was expecting not to see until the Game Awards, Amazon comes along and drops this long announcement piece before they unveil the first official trailer for their upcoming adaptations of Bethesda's Fallout. Now this will focus on a group of survivors emerging from an underground Vault after a sudden Nuclear bomb goes off and turns the land into a post apocalyptic wasteland and they must learn to survive in a world in the remains of a 1950s America. Now I was unsure at first but after watching the trailer I am invested and it looks very close to the games and doesn't look that bad. I am hoping it will turn out great and we will find out when it does when the series begins streaming from April 12th.

The Boys Season 4

And just in the case Fallout was the only Prime Video series getting some footage today, out of nowhere from the sky comes another in the form of the first trailer for The Boys Season 4. Now this gives us some snippets of what we can expect from the new season and it looks it is getting political as it is a battle of the Supes in some super elections to become the leader of the Free world between Homelander and Starlight while Butcher tries to stop all this mess before he succumbs to his own demise. Now this still has all that pomp and insanity of this series and will be worth a check out when this series drops sometime next year.

House of the Dragon Season 2
Another trailer that I was not expecting to see footage of for at least another month or so has also flown in with great force and gusto as we have gotten an all new trailer for the 2nd season of House of the Dragon. Now this will follow on from the sudden cliffhanger end of the first season and see how those events will lead to tensions, battle bloodshed and lot of Dragons all over who will be the rightful heir of the Iron Throne. Now personally from this small trailer I am quite intrigued to see how all of this will play out and we have a bit of a wait until so as this new season will be arriving sometime in the Summer of 2024.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
And for the last of the trailers for this week, it really seems like a lovely day as George Miller has returned to the barren wasteland as we have an all new focused film in the world of Mad Max with Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Now this will focus on a younger Furiosa played by Anya Taylor Joy who was snatched from the Green place of Many mothers when she was younger and will soon find herself in the crossroads of two tyrannical warlords as she tries to survive and get back home to where she belonged. Now most of the footage doesn't show too much but just enough and personally it looks really cool and I am excited to see how the legend of this fan favourite character from Fury Road will become that badass from that film and I am sure we will learn more about the whole outcome when the film releases on May 24th next year.

News of varying culture

Bike Riders be riding off to a new location after wrong turn

Now the first story was actually going to be one that was supposed to be releasing in the new release section but something in the last week or so has suddenly changed that. You see we were supposed to get the film of The Bikeriders starring Tom Hardy, Austin Butler and Jodie Comer released this week but just early last week it was announced out of literally no where that the film would no longer release this year and now instead get shopped around. Now the reasoning for this delay had to do with the recently concluded Actors strike as it was taken off of the release schedule from original distributor of Disney and was soon shopped around before it had recieved a new distributor with Focus Features and Universal pictures. It seems like a shame though as the film has garnered quite strong praise from some recent Film Festivals and seemed like an awards contender for the studio, so it will be worth to see if this will affect it all in the outcome when that time comes and how the film does when it now releases sometime next year.

But what are your thoughts on this small change and do you feel it will be affected by this distributor change and were you looking forward to seeing this film itself? Let me know your thoughts down below.

Taking Netflix and chill to an all new meaning
Now this is not the news you are expecting to see (more on that later) but you may have forgotten that Netflix has a section just mainly for Games as this is what this next story is about. Now they have some of their own titles relating to their shows such as Stranger things, Witcher and many more but they have also delved into some licensed titles like Farming simulator, Tomb Raider, Cut the Rope and many more and now they are about to add some big 3 titles to this platform as it was announced earlier this week that we will be seeing the release of the Grand Theft Auto trilogy of 3, Vice City and San Andreas releasing onto the platform itself from the 14th of December. Now all of that does sound good, however the only catch is that it is not the original versions of the game but rather the more recent remastered trilogy from 2 years ago and if you remembered how those games looked at launch then you can get that sense of concern. Now most likely since that release those games have had a massive patch work done to make t look better but I am sure we will have to see how it all turns out when it drops in 2 weeks time.

But what are your thoughts on all of this and are you excited to see how this played out on the streamer and what other big name titles would you want to see come onto the platform? Let me know what you think of all of this down below in the comments and lets discuss it.

The golden age of Piracy may finally be upon us after a few delays
Now the next story involves the discussion of a game that was announced around 7-8 years ago, was based on a concept implemented in the company's other game from a decade ago and has had it share of extensive delays and concern of it being any worthwhile use of getting it (similar to another game announced at the time) and this is of course with Ubisoft's Piracy game of Skull and Bones. Now this game was initially suppose to release all the way back in March of this year before the poor financial sales to Sparks of Hope and Last Years Just Dance put that into concern and this also came into affect a short while later when some early test previews were turning up as being disappointing and it may have been the case that some chunk of the game over the last year was worked upon to give it a chance. Well now a leaked listing may have suggested that this game is not too far from release now as it has been circulating that this game will be dropping in Mid February, specifically February 16th 2024. ow it lines up with a Ubisoft game projected for release after Avatar to come out before the end of their fiscal year in March and it could be this game itself. Now we will have to see if this all comes together as most likely it may be unveiled at next weeks game awards to really get the idea of what or when we will get this new game but I will guess we will wait and see until then.

But what are your opinions on this whole game itself and are you excited or interested in trying out this new Pirates game from this company. Let me know what you think down below.

The alien in the hunter and hunted period for the next outing
Now for some news that will take up into the dark reaches of Space, far deep enough that no one will hear you scream as we are talking briefly on the new Alien film projected for release next year and that is the movie of Alien: Romulus. Bow we haven't got much knowledge on who the cast will be playing and if they connect to some other characters in the series and that it will be directed by Fede Àlvarez, but we have gotten some all new idea of where the film will be set around. According to the production, the film is confirmed now to be released in between the original Alien and Aliens serving as a bit of a Alien 1.5. Bow this is not the only Alien project set in between these 2 as there is a game known as Alien Isolation from a decade ago that serves as a middle ground game/ film in the saga (and am still waiting for a sequel to the game and Blackout doesn't count to me fully) but it will be have to be seen if it connects to any other film character or if it is a film adaptation of that game, but I guess we'll wait until more info or images come along.

But what are your own thoughts to all ofbthis and are you excited to see this new Alien film entry? Let me know what you think down in the comments section below.

From a glorious Purpose to another major team up
And now for some brief news that will take us back to a near weekly piece of news that talks on the Marvel Cinematic Universe and we are talking on one of the biggest upcoming films from the upcoming saga. Now the last time I talked on some Marvel news one of the stories I mentioned was that the director of Destin Daniel Cretton had stepped down from directing and writing the upcoming Avengers film of the Kang Dynasty and while the search is still underway for the new director or directors for the film are established, we do have an all new writer taking the helm at this major new film and that is with Michael Waldron, who has already been a creative head for the most popular series from the recent phases and that is of course Loki, which gives me some hope as I felt that the series was very well done and ended excellently and the writing for the most part was done very well and I hope he'll bring some uniqueness to that film itself.
Now he could also take the reign's for directing but it will probably be more of the writing side of things and also with this film there has been a discussion that this one will actually be retitled with the current trial for Majors happening this week and could cause him to be dropped and it being reworked and both films delayed further into the future but it will have to be seen when any more info comes about from the trial or from Marvel themselves.

But what are your own thoughts on all of this and do you think Waldron will make a good job with the scripts and story for this film and possibly Secret Wars? Let me know what your thoughts on this are down below in the comments.

No Explanation Needed

Like I don't even need to explain this one, you already know the hype for this and I will be delving more into this in a separate piece and on next weeks Weird Mind Episode and talk all about this cause this is going to be huge. All I am speculating on will be when to see it release as I am thinking it will be either late Next year or the latest March-May 2025 or early fall of that same year but who knows.

But what are your own thoughts on this and when do you expect it to release and do you think this will also get a massive price point for launch? Let me know what you think on all of this down below in the comments.

And with all of that that brings us to the end of the very jam packed 40th Weird Mind News Room piece and I do hope that you have enjoyed listening to my ever expanding ramblings. Let me know your thoughts on all of the topics discussed below and as always, I hope you all stay being wonderful people and have a great day everyday doing many great things :) and I shall see you's all in the next piece.

Signing Off
