New Releases of Pure Imagination

Movies
Wonka

So we start the week off with the film that will bring us a world of Pure Imagination as we delve into the origin of the famous Roald Dahl Chocolatier of Wonka. Now this new film will follow a young Willy Wonka (Played by Timothee Chalamet) as he pursues his dream of become a world famous candy and chocolate maker and make it his effort to open his first candy Shop while also having to deal with the chocolate mafia (a group of wealthy candy and chocolate makers who corner the market with their craft and at very high prices) and with the help of a small man known as a Oompa Loompa (played by Hugh Grant) he will show charm, creativity and pure imagination to become the world famous candy maker. Now the reception on this film has been very well recieved with great praise going to the main performance, as well to its music, songs and charm, though some may be a little here and there with some story aspects. But if you are looking for a sweet treat this holiday season then you can check this film now in cinemas.

Merry Little Batman
So I have a question, what does the Dark Knight and Christmas have in common? Well besides the often overlooked but very good Arkham Origins game, I am talking about an all new animated Batman film known as Merry Little Batman. This new film will see a young Damian Wayne donning the Cape and cowl to protect his home of Wayne Manor from the dastardly Rogues Gallery that plan to steal from Wayne manor and possibly Christmas as well when Bruce is away from Gotham. Now the reception for this film has been very strongly recieved from its story and its unique style of animation and if you want a bit of a festive treat you can check it out now on Amazon Prime.

Video Games
Avatar Frontiers of Pandora

Now while it may be another 2 years before we see the continuing story of Jake Sulley and his family, you do not have to wait too long to return to the world of Pandora as we have an all new game to explore that all new world with Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Now in this game you will take on the role of an orphaned Na'vi who was taken, raised and trained as a soldier with the RDA and after waking up 15 years later after being put in cryo sleep will explore the western part of Pandora and gather an army to fight back against those who took a good chunk of their life away from them. Now reception on the game has been decently recieved from its visuals, gameplay and story elements, though some story may be a little hit or miss and some of the world itself seems a little empty, but if you want to experience Pandora in your own form then you can do so now on PS5, Series X/S and PC.

The Day Before?

Now for a game that was seen as a mystery for most of its development from countless delays, copyright issues to other aspects that made this game feel questionable, we have the all new game known simply as The Day Before. Now this new open world MMO will have you play as a survivor during an apocalypse and exploring, crafting and fighting your way through a desolate wasteland to find survivors and build a community to fight back against those that have turned. Now the reception for this game as of now is quite mixed as it mainly has been due to servers crashing or rough framerates while many see the potential and if you want to check it out for yourself it is available now in early access on PC.

Wallace and Gromit: The Grand Getaway

wahey Cracking new game Gromit, as everyone's favourite cheese loving inventor and his canine companion are back in an all new VR experience with Wallace and Gromit: The Grand Getaway. In this new VR experience you will join the duo on all all new cosmic adventure as you explore vast planets in a very odd and strange new form of golf after a mishap sends them into the cosmos. Now reception on this game has been decently recieved and if you want to try it out for yourself it is now available on the Meta Quest.

Fizzy Lifting Trailers

Grand Theft Auto VI
I mean do I even need to explain as finally after years of anticipation, we have recieved the very first look at the next entry in the GTA series with Grand Theft Auto 6. Now this trailer is more of what you will see and experience in this new game where you will take on the new protagonists of Lucia (the first playable female protagonist in Rockstar history) and Jason as you take on a Bonnie and Clyde story as we return to the vast land of Vice City and the expansive local of Leonida. Now visually it looks stunning and fantastic and it was less then 24 hours before people called this game being "woke" and other shit but you will get that from any new game or piece of media released in recent memory but we will learn more and see more before this game drops sometime in 2025.

Godzilla x Kong: A new Empire
Now nearly 3 years ago, we saw two titans battle it out on the big screen and that was a fight with a giant Lizard that breathes Atomic breath and cause major damage and the other is big Monke. Well now they are about to do battle again, but this time they are teaming up to fight a greater enemy as we have the first trailer for Godzilla X Kong: a New Empire (makes it sound like some form of lewd Fanfiction from the title for some reason). Now this new film will see Godzilla and Kong reunite and team up to stop a much greater threat that could destroy the Hollow Earth and the surface and they must stop it at all costs. Now I enjoyed the last one and this one looks great so far and hopefully it will take a page out of the new Godzilla film and Monarch series and turn out great (most are questioning why Zilla has pink breath now but who knows) but you can check out this next battle when the film drops on April 12th next year.

Halo the series season 2
Master chief you mind telling me where you disappeared to for the last 2 years. Sir making season 2. Yes it has dropped from out of nowhere but we have gotten a trailer trailer for the upcoming 2nd season of Halo. Now this will continue Master Chiefs journey to stop the Covent and protect the universe from tyrannical reign. Now the first season was a bit mixed in some aspects from its lore breaks by having chief removing his Helmet constantly and the case of him sleeping with multiple species when he is supposed to not have a sex drive but hopefully they will fix its issues with this upcoming 2nd season which starts streaming on February 8th next year on Paramount+.

Bob Marley: One Love
And for a bit of a music based biopic and a bit of peace cause we really need that in the world right now with those horrible conflicts and tensions as we have an all new trailer for the upcoming biopic of Bob Marley: One Love. Now this will follow the musician from his rise to fame as the greatest Reggae Singer in the world up to his death in the 1980s. Now it looks like it could be a great watch and Kingsley Ben-Adir does have the look and feel down and we will see how this will all play out when this film releases on February 16th.

Any Game Awards trailers put here
OD (kojima game)
so the first of the reveals that really appealed to me came in the form of an all new game from creative game maker Hideo Kojima known as OD. Now not much is known from this game but it is going to be some all new form of media as both game and movie. It isn't just Kojima on his own as horror director and comedian Jordan Peele is also involved in some form with the creation as is other creative minds yet to be unveiled (besides the performances of Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schafer and Udo Kier) but we will learn more when it will release for Xbox and PC (and most case PS5) sometime soon.

Jurassic Park Survival
Now a game I initially thought was going to be the announcement of a 3rd title in the Evolution series, we are going to Isla Nubar to the land where dinosaurs roam for an all new title of Jurassic Park Survival. This new title will have you play as Dr Maya Joshi and take place a day after the events of Jurassic Park as you try and survive in the remains of the park with all the dinosaurs running free. Now this is technically a revival of a planned game of the same name from the early 2000s and honestly it looks cool and I am excited to try this out when it releases sometime soon in the next year or 2 on PS5, Series X/S and PC.

Marvel Blade (Bethesda)

Now for something that came out of nowhere and a welcome surprise but we got the announcement for an all new title from Bethesda and Arkane, the studio behind Deathloop and Dishonored sinking their teeth into a new Marvel collaberation as they are making an all new game based on the Vampire Hunter of Blade. Now not much is shown but we know it will be set in Paris and will be a 3rd person shooter action game and I for one think it is cool. Whether or not this will tie into the upcoming MCU film is anyones guess but I will be giving this a go in the future whenever this releases.

Everlasting News Stoppers

All the wins and content from the Game awards 2023
So we start off this weeks news section with probably the follow up from the video I released about 24 hours before the event (and if you want to check out what I got right and the small few I predicted wrongly you can check it out on my Youtube and the blog version here) and I wanted to give a focus on talking on all of the reveals and all of the big winners of the night as well too as some I already mentioned in the trailers section but we have a good bit to discuss so I'll start with the winners.

So last night's big winner went with Larian Studios Baldur's Gate 3 as it won the big coveted trophy of Game of the year and it was definitely a toss up between that game and Tears of the Kingdom for me as the game of the Year and honestly congrats to all of the nominees and winners of the event as well. As for my predictions I was surprised how many I actually got right and I think I only got 7 or 8 predictions wrong total which is about 20-25% of the ones I did, made up some other ones from the E-sports and made some good guesses. As for the wins for each, BG took home 6 of its 9 nominations (including the Player choice), Alan Wake 2 took home 3, Mario and Zelda took home 1 a piece and many others took home some well deserving rewards. Now for some of the highlights announced at the show.

As I mentioned in the trailers, we got the announcement of the new Kojima Xbox project of OD that he will be collaborating on with Jordan Peele, We got a new Blade game from Bethesda and Arcane studios on the horizon as well as a possible revival of a once planned Jurassic Park game from the early 2000s. Some of the other big reveals came with the announcement of a remake to Brothers a Tale of Two sons coming out in late February, The Outlast Trails getting an official release date for PC and for Consoles of March 5th, Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice 2 got a new trailer with a 2024 release, World of Goo 2 was unveiled, God of War Ragnarok is getting free DLC next week in the form of Valhalla. We are getting a New Monster Hunter game entitled Monster Hunter Wilds in 2025, SEGA unveiled they are making 5+ new titles for new consoles including a new Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio as well as Golden Axe, Shinobi and Streets of Rage, No Man Sky Developers showed whats to come with their flagship game and the anouncement of their new title of Light no Fire, Some New DLC for Final Fantasy 16, the rumoured date for Skull and Bones was confirmed to be true for release on February 16th, Life is Strange developers unveiled their new title of Lost Records: Bloom and Rage and their is so much more shown off and unveiled at the game awards that I feel I need to give it all its own separate video to discuss everything, but yeah I think it was another great year and quite the tough contest this year in many games.

But what are your thoughts on all of the winners and announcements of the events, were you surprised by some over others ( I know I was with one or 2 myself) and which announcement are you the most excited for? Let me know all your thoughts and opinions down below and lets discuss them that could be brought up in a possible later video.

HBO Max has plenty of new content over the next 2 years
Now in other big unveilment news, HBO max dropped a sizzle reel of what we can expect to see coming onto our screens over the next year and beyond in 2025 with some of the big announcements from this short demo and confirmation for some other projects.

So its starts with a new series based on True Detective with Night country which will start the year with a release in mid January. We also saw some new footage of the Regime which will premiere sometime in the Spring and then it was followed up with footage from the 2nd season of House of the Dragon which we were confirmed from last week in the trailer was releasing in the summer. We then were shown some footage of the new black comedy of the Sympathizer and some new look footage at the upcoming 3rd season of Industry. We see some brief clip for the next season of Curb Your enthusiasm, a new series based on Jerrod Carmichael and a brief glimpse of some other new true story series before it ends with a clip for The franchise a new comedy series being created by Skyfall and 1917 Director Sam Mendes. We also got some looks at some other stuff including a new travel series with Comedian Conan O'Brian, some brief looks at a new Pretty Little Liars series and Tokyo Vice and wraps up the 2024 slate with a new look at The Penguin, a spin off series based on the version played by Irish actor Collin Farrell.

As for 2025 it is confirmed that is when we will be returning to the award winning adaptation of the Last of Us for season 2, the 3rd season for Euphoria will also release at that time and season 3 of the White Lotus and it ended with the confirmation of a return to the town of Derry where everyone floats with the new prequel series based on the Stephen King Novel of IT that will provide the origins of Pennywise the clown (whether or not this will also include the same actor from those films back again is unknown currently). But I will say it seems like quite the packed 2 years for HBO originals.

But what are your thoughts on all of these and are you excited for any of them, I know I am very excited for Last of US and House of the Dragon and am intrigued by that welcome to Derry one, but let me know what you think down below in the comments.

Angelina Jolie back as the baddest B***h

Now for the next story is going to be more brief then the last 2 and comes in the form of talking about those live action Disney films. Now we have known there is a lot of these live action films in the last decades have been a bit hit or hit (I should know as someone that is sitting through them all for a 2 part rewatchathon) and many of them have had their share or fans and detractors and one of those films that felt they made some sense of a different approach was how they tackled the live action sleeping Beauty films as it was not more based on Aurora but rather on the famous villain of the series in the form of Maleficent. The film became a success and spawned an often forgotten sequel that was OK (then again came out in the year where 4 other live action Disney films came out) but it looks like she's back again as it was announced earlier this week that Angelina Jolie will be stepping into the shoes and wings of the evil sorceress herself for a 3rd live action Maleficent film which will appeal to many overtime. Now at the moment we will have to see when we can expect this film as the moment it is only confirmed she is back but Jolie is a very busy woman for the next period of time and this will follow on from the Lion King Sequel, Snow White, Hercules and whatever other ones were confirmed but once any word does come up I will let you know in a future episode.

But what are your own thoughts on all of this and are you excited for a 3rd one of this and what are your thoughts on the first 2 Maleficent films in general? Let me know your thoughts and opinions down below.

Deadpool leaks happen you make the leaks seem realistic

And for the last of the stories from this week is really more on the basis of film and tv media and the form of Leaks. Now in this day and age we cannot go a point in time where some people may find out where a certain show or film is being filmed and some people will find a way to snap a photo or 2 of some things that would've been some big surprises for the release and this is no exception for the next Marvel film of Deadpool 3. Now at the time of recording there has only been 2 confirmed images publicly released by Ryan and Hugh and that is of the 2 of them suited up and the most recent one that introduced us to the new character of Dogpool as most of the other images and screengrabs were from people snapping photos of the shoot itself. This has gotten a lot more annoying for the crew and cast ever since the end of the strikes as more and more images have popped up online since then, possibly spoiling some big reveals (ones I am not going to unveil here). Now in retaliation, Ryan Reynolds has come out with a statement asking people to stop doing the leaks for their own accord but it seemed to still presist, so it was only right for the cast and crew to have a little fun by bringing in some photoshop and go a bit nuts on the concepts where we have Deadpool holding up a sack of cash with Mickey Mouse applauding off to the side or Urkle from Family matter appearing in a wide shot of another in their own tongue and cheek way of getting back at the leakers. Now a bit of this feels like they are actually starting the marketing for this film as this does not seem out of the realm of possibility for a film like Deadpool, but hopefully it will provide some other creators and studios the idea that if this happens they have a method to fight back in a mock form without any injury or issue.

But what do you think of this whole ordeal, do you think leaks from BTS filming hurt a film or show or do you see it as something simple that people get excited for what's to come. Also do you think it is a smart move from them to do their own leaking like that? Let me know what you think down below in the comments.

And with all of that, that brings us to the end of the newest episode of Weird Mind News Room and I do hope that you have enjoyed this new episode full of strange wonders and excessive chin waggling in written form. Let me know all kf your thoughts on all discussed today in the comments on what you have seen, look forward to see or thoughts on all forms for each section and as always, stay being wonderful people (as you all are wonderful people) and have a great day everyday doing many great things and I shall see you in the next post :)

Signing off
Sam H
