Weird Mind News Room episode 125: July 14th - 20th

*Music to shake your Smurf to*

Hello again to all of you wonderful people of the Information Superhighway to the 125th edition of my weekly series of Weird Mind News Room where for this week we will have the case with some focus of some new releases, a selection of Trailers and a small selection of News Stories. But lets not waste too much time on the introductions and lets get into the main course of the media focuses of this week.

New Releases that will have you blue in the face

Movies
Smurfs
Now listen up for the new releases as this first one is about a group of little blue people that live in a not so very blue world but in all of the case they are all very blue and use their species names in a lot of ways that I have to wonder how many times this word is said in the film that I am sure it will be well worth a drinking game to see how many as we are back again to the world of a small magical village of creatures as we have what is the 4th film take adaptation of the popular classic comic characters of the Smurfs. The film will see the Smurfs of Smurf Village deal with the affects of their wise leader of Papa Smurf be taken by mysterious forces that are caused by the evil wizards of Razamel and Gargamel, that will see Smurfette (that did you know was being played by Rhianna) lead a team on a mission into the real world to save him and with the help of some new friends, will see the Smurfs learn and discover what defines their destiny to save the universe. Reception on this film has not been well recieved at all as while elements of the animation is well liked, the film is bogged down in a generic and unappealing story, even with a large ensemble cast trying their best but I am sure it may be something that will appeal to the kids and if you want to check it out, it is now available to watch in cinemas.

I Know what you did last summer reboot
Now the next one we have in focus and the last of the films for this week is with the concept that we have all had things in our past that we may have had happen to us that you would wish would not come back to haunt you or would be something you hoped would never have had happen to you, Well in the case with this group, the outcome of their actions may be initially forgotten and tried to be forgotten, it soon comes back to really haunt them in the process as taking the page of many horrors and slashers of recent memory, we have the release of the all new reboot sequel to the slasher film of I know what you did last summer. The film will follow a similar story to the original of five friends inadvertently cause a deadly car accident and decide to cover up their involvement and make a pact to keep it a secret between them instead of facing consequences. But a year later, their past comes back to haunt them as they learn someone does know what they did and now stalked by a mysterious killer, they seek out help of those that survived the original Southport massacre of 1997 to help them escape the torment. Reception on this entry similar to other entries of the series has one that has not been the most well recieved with some seeing it as being a decent legacy sequel, while most critics see it as being a little too one note and just a retread of the original film with other legacy horrors doing it a bit more better, but I am sure it may appeal more to those that are fans of the original films and if you want to check it out for yourself then you can catch this new film also out now in cinemas.

Video Games
Donkey Kong Bananza
Now onto the videos games of this week and in this case he is back again and it is about damn time too and in the case for this time he's back in a full fledged 3 dimensions and ready to smash, punch and slam their way deep underground all for the sweet appealing search for their precious banana, as everyone's favourite tie wearing Ape is back with a trusty little companion and in an all new 3D adventure as we have the release of the all new title of Donkey Kong Bananza. The game will have you play as the iconic ape as travels to the Ingot islands to discover about the recently discovered Banandium gems amindst a gold rush. Soon he is swept up by a dangerous storm and sent to a place underground that is shown to have a form of hollow-earth like terrain. He soon ends up in conflict with a gang of villainous apes known as Void Co. who steal the Banandium gems and plan to reach the planets core in order to gain a special wish as the legends foretell and with the assistance of a young girl named Pauline, you will go on a big smashing adventure to stop them from stealing the magic and save the day. Reception on this title has been garnering mass universal acclaim wit praise to the gameplay, mechanics, story, visuals, humour and so much more in this title that feels like a proper followup or connective title to the Switch 1 success story of Mario Odyssey (given that it was also made by the same team). I have tghe game myself and have played a bit of it so far and already it has me invested that I will be down to play more of this monkey Business in due time and feel this will be another Game of the Year contender in a year of so many bangers and if you want to play it for yourself (like you should) then you can play it now on the Nintendo Switch 2.

Shadow Labyrinth
Speaking of the return of an iconic character in a new form, the next game release of this week is one that initially started off as an arcade classic and has seen many forms over the last few years but in the basis of this new take on the character, it is ditching the form he is often known or associated with and being based from a take on the character seen recently in an anthology TV series that is showing the concept of those ghosts after you are really the true least concerning problem as we have the release of the all new Metroidvania style take on Pacman with Shadow Labyrinth. The game will have you play as the Swordsman, a creature awakened by a mysterious floating yellow orb known as PUCK on a mysterious planet amidst relics of some strange past wars, and have now been chosen to become this things instrument of its will. In order to survive, you will discover many secrets, consume your enemies, and grow from prey to the apex predator as you embrace your true purpose. Reception on this title has been seen as a little mixed to modestly recieved with praise to the concept and take on the new form of this iconic character and some gameplay mechanics, though some critiques on feeling a little lacking in focus and something that will take time to get adjusted to, but if you want to try this new take on the yellow dot eater then you can play it now on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 1 and 2 and PC.

Robocop Rogue City: Unfinished Business
And the last of the new releases that we have for this week is taking us back into a city full of crime, where so much degenerates and corruption are found around every corner and where there is one beacon location to do so, it will be up to one officer to clean up this city of crime, as everyone's favourite cyborg is back with an added new expansion to his recent title in the new game of Robocop Rogue City - Unfinished Business. In this new expansion title, Robocop must infiltrate Omni Tower, a tall massive complex that is controlled by a group of elite mercenaries and must fight your way to the top to take them down as well as experiencing some flashback levels that allow you to play as Alex Murphy before he became Robocop. Reception on this title has also seen some mixed to modest reception that the visuals, story and gameplay are all well recieved, though some elements of repetiveness of the one location and lack of mass amounts of new weapons to use but I am sure it will be well worth a try and if you want to play it for yourself then you can play this game now on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Trailers that are totally bananas

 After the Hunt
The first of the trailers brings us the focus and discussion of mixed messaging, a rumour, a truth or a Lie and the question of wondering if it brings back old pains and trauma and whos side do you trust, as Luca Guadagino has returned again working away with another new film project on the way as we have the release of his newest thriller film of After the Hunt. A film will see a college Professor (Julia Roberts) finding herself at a personal and professional crossroads when a Star Student (Ayo Edebiri) levels an accusation against one of her colleagues (Andrew Garfield), threatening to expose a dark secret from her own past. So I first heard about this project from Cinema con and felt that this one may have something that I see as being quite topical in this day and age that the ideals of accusations, he said, she said and the sorts of things are ones that do get tossed around along in this day and age and it is a case of wondering of who to trust and how will this affect people in certain ways and from the looks of things it may be a well done concept here and could be a well meaning project that could be seen on the awards circuit (unless the likes of the academy or whoever goes against their filmography or is not that well recieved) but I am sure we will see in due time when the truth itself is released into cinemas from October 22nd.

Stranger Things Season 5
For the first of the tv show trailers is one that has finally been given to us of showing that the end is nigh, the creatures that are from the alternate world right below our feet are rising up to our world and in the case of the only way to survive is to fight back in order to save their town and combat those that mean harm that may see some be sacrificed in the process, as after initially getting a trailer that was a big old nothing burger, we have finally been given a proper full trailer for the 5th and final season of Stranger Things. This final season will see the final battle of Hawkins as the rifts between the Real World and the Upside Down have opened, causing chaos and a Military Quarantine on the town where the gang will unite to fight Vecna who has gone missing since the end of the last season and his plans currently unknown which complicates the mission and will lead to them battling a darkness that looms that is more powerful then ever before. So it is finally a case that it is way better then the trailer they said was one at the TUDUM event as it feels more focused and so far it looks like it will be quite the array of action oriented focus (and given the case I have heard a rumoured leak source that every episode of this season is over 2 hours with the finale being exactly 3 which may be a little too overbloated). It does hopefully want to see some things happen in this season to feel a bit of sense which will be we will see some actual character deaths that will hopefully hit hard and 2, that their is a bit of a time jump to make it feel more plausible that the characters are close to the actors ages as no way you are telling me these kids are only 15 years old when they look like they are in their early 20s. But besides that I am sure it will hopefully stick the landing of a proper send off (but knowing people, there will be complaints) but we will see in due time with this final season releasing in 3 parts on Netflix with part 1 out on Thanksgiving, Part 2 at Christmas and the finale on New Years Eve.

Pixar's Hoppers
Now on the first of 2 animated films trailers for this week and we have another new original from the studio that always still tries something new and quirky with their projects and appealing originals (and the studio that had one recently that is doing poorly in the Box office which is a damn shame) but we are heading to more of a Earth based story for this new story as we are about to see Humans and Nature combine and things are about to get a little wacky and Crazy as we have recieved the teaser for the newest Pixar original of Hoppers. The film will see a group of Scientists from a university create a revolutionary machine that will invent a way for human brains to inhabit mechanical bodies and we will follow Mabel Tanaka, an animal loving girl who will use their technology to put their mind into a robotic mechanical beaver and use it to communicate with the animals and help to stop a construction companies plot to destroy the local animal habitat. So it is always interesting to see what sort of weird madcap story that Pixar will come up with and this one seems interesting in focus and so far from the visuals and things it does look pretty good and may be a funny watch overall. Now I see the case that they may be able to do a decently good environmental message to the film and the case that the animal based humour and focus seems to be well in mind, given the film is made from the original showrunner of We Bare Bears so I feel it will be something entertaining to watch and I will be checking this out and you can too when it hops its way into cinemas from March 6th next year.

Fixed
As for the 2nd of the animated trailer for this week is one that on the surface from first glance of this footage you would think it is a harmless little 2d animated project, but this ain't no kids movie as this one is going a little more cruder and a lot more ruder, balls and all as renowed animator Genndy Tartakovsky is finally getting the release of his supposed passion project that has been shopped around from different distributors as we have recieved the trailer for his R-rated cut of Fixed. The film will follow Bull (Adam Devine), an average all around good dog who discovers he is going to be neutered in the Morning! As the gravity of this life altering event sets in, Bull realizes he needs one last adventures with his pack of best friends as these are the last 24 hours with his Balls! What could go wrong. So yeah if you can't tell this is one that has a lot of focus on the raunchy sexual tone focus with these characters that I am sure was quite the shock to the system in the trailers release but I am sure it may be something that has a lot more to it in the overall full project itself and I have heard about this project for a while that this has been in concept for well over 15 years now and after being nearly shelved by Warner Bros (not surprised there as the head of Discovery keeps shelving WB projects and lose money but never any from Discovery) but saved by the streaming giants and I have heard that it is a lot better in the full release and reception seems to show it as well but I am sure it will be worth a watch when the film drops onto Netflix from August 13th.

Mortal Kombat II
As for the only Game based focused trailer we have for this week, an all new tournament has emerged, the fighters are being gathered and a bloody battle is sure to commence and lead to some possible fatalities, and for one former major action star of the 90s era this may be quite the change of pace for his style as it is time to test your might once again as we have finally recieved the trailer for the all new sequel to the rebooted take on this fighting game with Mortal Kombat 2. The film will follow on from the first reboot film and follow the fan favourite champions, which now includes them recruiting the legendary action film star Johnny Cage, as they are pitted against one another in the ultimate battle to defeat the dark rule of Shao Kahn that threatens the very existence of the Earthrealm and its defenders. So it is a case I can't recall if I watched that recent reboot but I have heard it is pretty decent if a little mixed that it takes itself a little too seriously, but from what I can see on this project is that it may be looking mor in the lighter and jokey tone and all out bonkers action that is well needed that I am sure that the kills will be bloody and the action all out and from the looks of things it does look pretty good so far (with a little bit of touch up on some CGI for one or 2 of the kills shown in this) but I am sure it will be worth a checking out for this tournament of champions when the film releases into cinemas from the 24th of October.

Tron Ares
The Next trailer in focus is one that will bring the sense of technology showing a sense of evolving over the years and also the rise of Artifical Intelligence becoming a new norm for society to find itself trying to master and control, but in this case, the Intelligence itself has become so advanced that the program itself has become a living thing and about to change the world that we may not be prepared for as after a bit of time we have another all new trailer for the upcoming follow up of Tron Ares. The film will be following a highly sophisticated program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world of Tron into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind's first encounter with A.I Beings and may change the world of Humans and Machines forever. So the likes of this franchise I felt am surprised that it has not already spawned so much content since the last film in 2010 that it was likely a case now is the perfect time to give a bit of an appeal to it all with the rise of AI in the modern day and so far from the visuals it does look really interesting. The only thing I worry about with this project in particular is with Leto as the main lead as it is seen that the last 2 times he has been a lead in something, he has went a little too method with the characters and not to mention the recent allegations and stuff made against him that it could see an affect on the appeal, but I guess we will have to see how this program runs or crashes when the film itself is uploaded into cinemas from October 10th.

Nobody 2
Now these last 2 are trailers that until just writing that I had seemed to have overlooked or were not as overly advertised to me but it nearly feels a case with this first one like it was close to the whole ordeal with the original film that was a bit of a sleeper hit but in this case it is worth a check out as the every man himself is back and on a much needed vacation that will not have him too far away from work as we have the 2nd and final trailer for the sequel to Nobody. The film will see workaholic assassin Hutch Mansell taking his family on a much-needed vacation to the small tourist town of Plummerville. However he will soon himself in the crosshairs of a corrupt theme park operator, a deep undercover smugglers cache, corrupt cops and a bloodthirsty Crime Boss and will need to hone his skills to take them down and enjoy his vacation after all. Its a case with this original film that it just came out of nowhere and entertained the masses that it was expected that a follow up was expected and hopefully will be in the same approach as the John Wick films it is inspired by and will get better with each new installment and in the case of this film it does look really entertaining and I am all for checking it out and its not too long away from release either as the film will be released into cinemas from the 15th of August.

Alien Earth
As for the last of the trailers for this week, we have been told for nearly 50 years in this point that in the basis of in Space, its a well known focus that no one can hear you scream from something dangerous, but in the case of this new take on a popular franchise, it is more close to home and I know for sure that many will likely hear you scream for sure this time as we have recieved one more trailer for this upcoming new series based from the original 70s sci-fi horror with the new series of Alien Earth. Set about a century into the future and 2 years before the events of the original 1979 original, the film will see a large mysterious space vessel crash-landing on earth, where we will see a young woman and a rag tag group of tactical soldiers make a discovery that will now put them face-to-face with the planet's biggest threat. SO it is to say this franchise has shown its case of many forms of hits and misses and I feel in the last few years it has seen a bit of a come back with the recent film being a success as well as doing well reception wise in comics and games and having one set in the past and close to the modern world and showing how the planet itself would be affected to the arrival of this dangerous creature will be something well worth a viewing and watch of and in this case it is not too long away from the release of it either as the new series will be arriving onto Disney+ in under a months time on August 12th.

News to avoid a slasher

The next wave of award show nominees for the Emmys
So on the first of some of the stories that we don have for this week is the start of the wave of the usual affair of this year in focus as we have the 2025 edition of the Emmys in focus for this week as we have just gotten the nominees for the big success stories of what has gotten a bit of a chance of making it big and in the case for this I will give a list of the most nominations in the top 5 or for each section as I can and in the case I will also mention a few snubs or well deserved big focus ones so lets delve into what was the big focus of the nominees.

So looking into the categories it seems the most nominated at this years event is the show that was the massive talking point of the beginning of this year as the 2nd season of the Apple TV+ series of Severance has been leading the nominees with a total of 27 nominations across the board which I felt it was expected to be a big presence in this award season so it will be worth seeing how much of this show will sweep the awards. As for the 2nd nominated show of the event is going a little more in the realm of the grimey underworld of crime and the rise of a rogue gallery member making his name in this city as the Penguin was the 2nd most nominated with a total of 24 nominations which I felt was well deserved as it was a really great show to watch and experience and will be worth a watch and feel it will do well in the limited series categories but I guess we will see by then. Then we have a 2 way tie for 3rd Place in the number of nominations for this award show with 23 nominations each have been given to the shows of HBO Max's White Lotus Season 3 and for the new Apple Tv+ series of The Studio which I see both having their unique vibes and tones and appeal to different audiences and some of these are shows I need to check out. I know the case one of the big ones that has seen a great appeal was that this is the first acting nomination that acclaimed Director Martin Scorsese has been nominated for his appearance in the Studio and I feel it is well deserved ( mean the only other acting performance I can think of he was in was with Shark Tale as Sykes AKA Puff daddy) but both well deserved for the nominations. Lastly rounding out of the top 5 nominations was with of course similar to last years Emmys with a total of 16 nominations being given to the 2nd season of the adaptation of The Last of Us which I feel was deserving of some of the nominations with the leads of Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsay both getting some nominations in their roles and I feel they were deserving, even with a little mixed opinion on the writing and all but overall was still a decent solid season that hopefully will be not too long away from the 3rd season (though have heard some reports that the 3rd season is coming out in 2027 at the latest). This is not the only big surprises or success of the nominations as there is a few other regulars making a presence including The Bear coming in with 13 nominations, Only Murders with 7, SNL technically having 2 different forms with the normal show getting 7 noms and the special 50th anniversary with 12, the new season of Black Mirror coming out with 10 nominations and the likes of Hous of the Dragon and Abbott Elementary with 6 a piece. Now 2 shows I feel well deserving of many nominations included Andor's 2nd season dropping with 14 nominations that has also seen a bit of a discussion of some of them being snubbed, particularly with the acting nominations but they have specified they were more then happy with the nominations that the show has gotten. The other big one was the limited series of Adolescence with the show getting 13 nominations with the big success story going to the show having the youngest actor being nominated for the Emmy's with Owen cooper gaining an actor nomination which I feel is greatly deserved and will be a great success for the future of that young mans career and honestly really well deserved.

Now of course in the case there is the whole disucssion about some of the snubs that have come for this awards show and have already mentioned one with the lack of actors getting nominations for Andor, but it was not the only acting nominations being in focus to be snubbed as there was one for the Arnie's Son patrick being left out of the cast nominations for White Lotus, as well as the case of Milly Alcock for her performance in the series of Sirens and the case of one I always bring us is they never give a nomination for all 3 of the leads for Only Murders as both Selena Gomez and Steve Martin got Snubbed. As for shows, there was 2 that people seem annoyed were overlooked for nominations and that was with both of the Handmaid's tale which just released its final season and the 2nd season of Squid game were both overlooked for awards at this years event and is a shame for a show that has went on for long, released a final season to decently recieved reception and then get nothing (when a lot of point in the show are staring to become too close to reality) and then for SG I am sure it may be more of billing of the 2 seasons together as the last season is a 2 parter but it is hard to say. But besides all of that I think that the nominations for this years Emmy's are a decent selection and I may try and do a prediction one on this but am unsure right now but we will see what will be the most appealing for the winners and nominees by the award shows event taking place in Mid September.

But what do you think of all of these nominations, which ones do you see winning in the categories and what shows or limited series do you feel were snubbed or shows that had some snubs in certain categories? Let me know what you think down below.

Another focus on a big Ape and the founding of a Swordman and a Princess
As for the 2nd news stories for this week is with the focus that this will focus on some news relating to the world of video games and all of this is mainly in the area of the video game adaptations with announcements and some updates to some projects getting announced from this week, so we will not waste too much time and we will delve into what was unveiled and announced at this weeks adaptations news.
So first we are heading back to the world of Nintendo and in this case with one of the focus of discussion about one of the big releases of this week as we are talking once again about Donley Kong. Now its a case that DK has not bee a stranger to the world of Media outside of games as he has appeared in his own weird 3d Animated series years ago as well as being a supporting role in 2023s Super Mario Bros Movie and likely its upcoming sequel that is out next year in April (hopefully be hearing some word on that soon about new additions and stuff) but it seems to be a case that Nintendo's partnership is not ending there as it seems we have now been confirmed by a recent trademark filing that we are now getting a Donkey Kong led movie from Universal going off of the listing for a DK trademark for a motion picture. Now likely a case with this project this will be something in the vein of a Donkey Kong Country title which will likely see DK, Diddy (not the Freak off one), Dixie, Cranky and the other known Kongs on an adventure in most case to likely get their Banana Hoard back or fight against King K.Rool and his armada but I am sure we will see in due time as to what it will entail. Now no word as been given as to when we can see this project but I am sure it will be after the New Mario film next year and then the 3rd Minions film a year kater and I am sure they may tease it in the upcoming project but I am sure if anything new does come up about this project that I am all for checking out then I will provide that info in a later episode.

As for the 2nd story, we are staying with Nintendo for this next one as we have another focus on a project that we have known a little about in focus but we have gotten some big news for this week and that is with the all new planned Live action film based on the Legend of Zelda that is coming out in 2027 from Sony and Maze Runner and KOTPOTA director Wes Ball. Now not much has been shared about the project besides the release in May of 2027 and the case it is a planned first film in a supposed trilogy of projects and for a while it was all just in the basis of speculation as to who will be see take on the iconic roles of the gaming franchise. Well thankfully, that news has been cleared for one instance as on Wednesday of this week, Shigeru Miaymoto took to Twitter and the Nintendo Today app to announce the castings of Link and Zelda for the film and thankfully its not the overused actors and rather some major unknown but upcoming stars as it was announced that Zelda will be played by Three Girls and the Jetty and Renegade Nell star Bo Bragason and Link will be portrayed by Haunting of Bly Manor and Disney's Pinocchio star of Benjamin Evan Ainsworth. Well when I saw the announcement at first I was concerned that it would be just the usual affair of everyone choosing Tom Holland as Link and Zendaya or someone as Zelda but thankfully those were quickly eased with the unveiling of 2 newcomers which will appeal a lot more in this then the familiar faces (I do know there was a lot of appeal and push for Hunter Schaffer as Zelda and in all case if it was her being announced I would honestly have been all fine with that as well too). Now the questions I have in this focus for now is wondering who will be taking on the role of the main antagonist of Ganondorf, will this be based on one of the many stories told across one of the Games narratives and the 3rd piece is wondering if Link will be staying Mute in this project or will he have a bit of a speaking role? But besides that I am sure we will see in due time as to who else will be a part of this and if there is any more news for this project, then I will of course update in a later episode for sure.

As for the last of the stories focused on some video game adaptations we have an update to a project that was initially announced a bit of time ago and since then it was left in a bit of a limbo if it was still in the process of coming along but just this week, they have finally provided an all new update to it all as it was announced on Thursday that the planned Assassins Creed TV series is still alive and will now be heading into active development on Netflix. Not much else is known about the upcoming project but it has been confirmed to be in working development with the showrunner confirmed with Robert Patino (Westworld, Sons of Anarchy) and David Weiner (Halo, The Killing) helming this series. It will be a case of wondering if this will be a case of being like the animated shows on Netflix that has seen a lot of love and praise in being respectful to the source material (such as Cuphead, Edgerunners and Arcane) or if it will be a case like their Live action affair that had appeal at first but then saw a lot of seasons that were far from respecting the lore and content of the series such as the Resident Evil and Witcher series but for now we have no idea. I am unsure as to if each season could be an anthology focusing on a different time period and assassin or if it will be a continued story of just one in focus or when we can expect the series but I will keep a watch on this with interest and if there is anything that comes along about this project, then I will update in a later episode.

But what do you make of these stories, are you excited for a DK movie, who else would you cast and as who for the Zelda Film and would you be interested in an Assassins Creed series and would you prefer a focus of 1 Assassin a season or for the series in general? Let me know what you think about it all down below in the comments.

Dates for a snow Queen and along comes a spider with a little delay of arrival

The last of the news stories that we have for this week is with a small little focus on some release date announcements for some animated affair with one that I feel is milking it with a franchise and one that is not a major delay and may feel a worry of more but for the project itself it feels worth the slight delay but lets get to the discussion on what was announced in dates and changes.

So we'll start with the latter focus release date and it is with one that I am so excited for and in the case of this delay is one that is not much of an issue but it was announced on Thursday that the 3rd film in the Spider-verse series of Beyond has been delayed again, but thankfully it is not by much but rather only by about 3 weeks from the initial new release date of June 24th from the original date of June 4th. Now it is not a big delay as it is expected with a project like this one that it was bound to have a few more new delays as it is such a visual spectacle of a project with so much different array of mixed media designs that personally I am fine with a little extra delay on the project and I am all for this getting a release with some much love and care that is gone into the project and make it the best thing they could make it and cap off a masterwork of a trilogy and hopefully it will be that case when it does all come together. Now do I see it being the last delay, I'm unsure but I am sure if anything does come of this project I will update in a later episode.

And as for the former, while for some of these characters the cold may not bother them anyway, it may be a case that I am getting a bit nippy and a little frosty of a response to this as it was announced that a 3rd film in the frozen franchise from Disney has officially gotten a release date with it being the Disney Thanksgiving movie of 2027. But that is not all, as it has also been confirmed that a 4th film is also coming out for this series and this one will release the following year with both films being worked on back to back to make it an overall double length film. Now in all case of things I feel this franchise personally is overrated, but in recent times has died down a lot more and more focused on other Disney projects but I feel this could be a situation to the last film in this series where that film had a rough development where they were months out from release and they had no idea on some of the important elements of the story and was a concern that it would be a mess of things, but it seemed they turned it around for release but reception was a lot lower then the original and this could be a case of trying to make a massive story for 2 films itself. Do I see these being a success, well if the last 2 were both making a Billion for each film then likely yes, but do I see them as being good, I don't know. I thought the furst was decent and the 2nd was not great but ok and watchable but it feels they will milk this franchise as they see it as a massive success. I feel them pushing out so many sequels that it nearly feels like they are taking the approach to the Illumination tone of the Minions and Despicable Me films with how many sequels they make of that franchise (I know Pixar is a bit of the same with some of their IPs but they are more spaced out compared to some of Disney's output of sequels in time differences) but who knows maybe these will be the best of the series but I guess we will see in due time by the release of the first one in 2027.

But what do you make of these dates, do you see the Spider-verse delay as a good thing or will it be delayed again and are you excited for 2 more Frozen films? Let me know your opinions down below.

And with all of that, that brings us to the end of the 125th edition of Weird Mind News Room and I hope you enjoyed the ramblings for another week. Let me know your thoughts on all that was discussed down below and as always I hope you all stay being wonderful people and have a great day everyday doing many great things and I will see you all in the next episode.

Take care keep being you, signing off
Sam H:)
