Weird Mind News Room Episode 182: August 17th - 23rd
*the Episode and music ACME doesn't want you to see*
Good evening Ladies and gentleman, I am reporting live from an undisclosed location to bring you a lost hidden episode of the series of Weird Mind News Room that was obtained and hidden by the ACME corporation on the focus of secrets of the New Releases, Trailers and News that they don't want you to know about in the case of destroying their reputation, but I am risking my neck to make sure that it works out, so lets delve into these files and talk on all of these pieces of media that they have been covering up for this week.
The Case files of New Releases
Movies
Coyote VS ACME
So it is with the first of the new releases that this corporation has taken the reigns of this file and kept it hidden from the world as it was a case they had it planned for it not to see the light of day and have it lost to time all for a quick buck, but it seems from demand, protest and payout, it will see the light of day after all as it will be time for the trial of the century as many delays and near cancellation we now have the release of the new film of Coyote VS ACME. After every product made by the ACME corporation has backfired on Wile. E. Coyote in the pursuit of the Roadrunner, down-and-out billboard attorney Kevin Avery (Will Forte) represents Coyote in a lawsuit against ACME. A growing friendship between Wile and Kevin soon motivates their determination to win this court case, as it pits them against Buddy Crane (John Cena), the intimidating boss of Kevin's former law firm, who now represents ACME. Reception on this film will be one that will have ACME sweating as it has garnered universal praise on the visuals, narrative, comedy, characters and everything in between and seen as one of this years best reviewed films and many now question why they thought this was a film that felt worth cancelling? But if you want to fight back and show the love for the film then you can catch it out now in cinemas.
Insidious Out of the Further
While the corporation will try and bury the first new release, this other title will be what they will want you to watch instead and will see the horrors many try to bury rising from the dead and beyond and coming from the afterlife into the real world as it is a return to a new entry of this long running horror series with the release of Insidious Out of the Further. The film follows Gemma (Amelia Eve) a young mother who discovers that she can travel into the Further, a Purgatorial Realm of lost Souls. When something evil comes after her, she realizes she can bring what lives there back into the real world and once the demon realize her power, our world soon becomes their playground. Reception on this new film has been the usual mixed reception, though it seems to be the most improved of recent memory with praise on the concept and some of the scares, though the elements in the subtitle are a bit weak and is full of the usual by the numbers jumpscares but it seems there was a bit more of an attempt to this title and if you want to enter into the Further then you can do so now in cinemas.
Mutiny
The last of the films this week is the usual array of projects that you can expect will appear in some form that will have the most known of leads taking the crime into his own hands as we have a 2nd film of the annual title starring Jason Statham with the new film of Mutiny. The film will focus on Cole Reed who becomes framed for the murder of his Billionaire Boss and will soon uncover an international conspiracy as he battles a gang of thugs aboard a cargo ship. Reception on this title is a bit of a mixed one that while there is the entertainment value of the action flick, it is the usual issues of feeling the same with all his films or being a by the numbers concept but I am sure there is entertainment to t to just turn your brain off to and if you want to check it out for yourself then you can also check it out in cinemas.
TV Shows
Lanterns
The last of the new releases for this week will see the concept of some new heroes making a debut to this new saga where in the concern of the brightest day and the blackest night, that in some hope that no evil shall escape their sight, and where the concern of this new location will be a major focus of those that will defy them, they will soon have to beware of their power as it will be a return to a new series from the slowly growing DCU with the long awaited release of the new series of Lanterns. The series will follow members of the lantern corps, a group of heroes and intergalactic peacekeepers given extraordinary powers from powerful rings. This will follow two of those members of experienced Lantern Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) and new recruit Jon Stewart (Arron Pierre) as they are tasked to investigate a murder in a small town in Nebraska, which soon leads them to darker mysteries and reckonings. Reception on this series has been so far very well recieved with praise on the performances, visuals, narrative and for finally giving the Lantern Corps a proper project they deserve and if you want to check it out then you can catch the first episode now on HBO Max with a new episode releasing every Sunday Night or Monday Morning.
Trailers for the trial
Hollywood Arts
I would think the one new release would be redacted but they seem to cover all of it including the trailers and this first one will be a return to a series that was initially made on a channel for younger audiences that started as a focus of some youngers teens finding themselves in a school to show and find their talents and while many have proven their worth, it is a focus and return to one known face from the series that will be trying to provide her overzealous ego for a new generation as we are returning to the world of Victorious with a trailer for the new sequel series of Hollywood Arts. The new series will focus on Trina Vega (Daniella Monet) who has been struggling as an actress for years and decides to return to Hollywood Arts where she becomes an unqualified Substitute teacher where she will soon clash with and inspire a new generation of ambitious and eccentric students. So I recall the series of Victorious as being a decent project and it being one that was often connected with the other show of ICarly that had more of a clear structure and both of them have now gotten that sequel series. The idea of this is not a bad idea overall and I can see some sense of their being a good use of focus that When I watched this trailer I was getting a sense of the vibe to the initial planned spin offs of Icarly that was either going to focus on Gibby or Sam of them becoming a mentor or guidance counsellor for some kids but I can see that it can work with a location of a school of gifted stars in the making. I hope this will still be more akin to the original show, then the ICarly revival feeling a weird whiplash of them casually talking on sex, swearing and other ordeals but I am sure we can see in due time as the series will be releasing in about 2 months time on Netflix from the 15th of October.
Wildwood
For the one film trailer for this week will be returning to a form of filmmaking that can make an appearance once in a blue moon and that is in the area of stop motion animation and while we have the usual studio making new appealing bangers every year or so, this new one is with a studio that has been quiet for about a near decade and it is a film that will finally be showing off their long development and dedication that they have spent about 15 years working on as we will be returning to the studio of Laika as we have the release of a new trailer for their upcoming new film of Wildwood. Based on the novel of the same name, the film will follow Prue McKeel (Peyton Elizabeth Lee) and her Classmate Curtis Mehlberg (Jacob Trembley) are drawn into a hidden magical forest near Portland in an attempt to save Prue's kidnapped infant brother Mac from the crows, who are led by a mysterious woman named Alexandra (Carey Mulligan). Now this has always been a case why I love the genre of animation and the focus of stop motion that has been making a bit of a comeback in recent memory and I have to say that this 15 year wait has been well worth it as this looks actually visually stunning in the detail, the grand scale visuals and everything in between and honestly this I feel could be a massive project that will give the novel justice, especially given this will be clocking in at over 2 hours making it the longest Stop motion film and honestly I am very excited for checking this out and its also not long from release either as the trip to the woods will be unveiled into cinemas from the 23rd of October.
Monster: The Lizzy Borden Story
The last of the trailers for this week will be the focus of the return to the streaming side and in this case will be back to a series that has taken a look and perspective into the minds of those that have taken a life in some form, from one with a distinct look, ones who's series brought back up the ideals of if their killing was justified and one that inspired many horror classic, but this time we are changing it a little and going further back in time and to the focus that the ideals of killing and murder is not just a Man's ordeal and there is some in the focus that Women could be just as sinister but the focus on this side may be a tall tale of folklore as we return to the anthology series of killers with the release of the trailer for Monster of the Lizzy Borden Story. Now this will focus on the tales and story of Lizzie Borden who was seen as the main culprit and suspect in the August 4th 1892 axe murders of her Father and Stepmother and the eventual trail and acquittal of the crime itself. So its a case I felt I have heard a little about this case in the past with it mainly being from the perspective of the poem that I will recite and hopefully that company will not redact of "Lizzy Borden took an Axe, and gave her mother Forty Whacks. When she saw what she had done, she gave her Father Forty One. Andrew Borden now is Dead, Lizzie hit him on the head. Up in Heaven he will sing, on the Gallows she will swing." which seems like everything you need to know. Now I know this series of killers has slowly but surely lost its appeal overtime through their glorifying (especially the last season that was a bit graphically excessive) but I am sure there will be some sense of appeal to it in some capacity that will come from it all, but I am sure we will see in due time and its not too long from release either as this new season will be dropping onto Netflix from the 17th of September.
News of the verdict
Many stories of news, updates and gaming drama
So likely if the first 2 sections have been dealt the same blow of being stuck to possible redactions then this may be the same as well in the news, but in this case I will try and not do too many of the focus on this one with this being an ideal case of the usual array to the Hodge Podge of stories where there is not a lot of stories this week in focus but I will cover some updates and news that has been hitting the media space for the last few days but let us see what comes of it all.
Now the last story for this week is a bit more of a shocking development from the outcome of some news but it looks like the inevitable has happened once more in this industry as the gaming scene has seen another hack and leak of some content for an upcoming project and this time it is once again with this years hotly anticipated title of Grand Theft Auto 6. Now to give a breakdown, on Monday or Tuesday evening a group that call themselves Cyberleek had apparently access the Rockstar servers and have grabbed clips and footage of the upcoming title with a fair bit of the early bits being from a build from 2023 showing off some of the aspects and elements of the mechanics, visuals and even to a case of a possible leak of the games Map of Leonida. Now this was seen across a few batches of leaked footage and while people felt it was not much, the more concern came around Wednesday Evening or Thursday when the group unveiled that they may have a full complete build of the game itself when in the footage that I can't show to avoid more redacted ordeals that they shoot the word leek in the footage showing that they have some playable version and now things have become a lot more serious (allegedly though it could be some possible fabrications with some elements). As of writing this there is alleged of about 10 leaks have occoured already and there being a possible 2nd group involved as well and it seems like a concern that we may see leaks to the level of The Last of Us Part 2 suffered back in 2020 about 2 months out from release and this happening a few days before the extended look on Netflix and YouTube. Now I mention that they have a manifesto with a focus to this being aimed about their decision of their shady practices and demanding for a proper physical release for the title and while I can see in some capacity of the understanding for their method in that, there is a bit more of a shadier aspect and that is they are trying to use this to make a profit in the form of their own cryptocurrency so while I can see the ideals about the physical release being a reasonable attack, everything else doesn't and whether they have the actual build of the game and it could be released if they are caught like its a failsafe or bomb feels a bit uncertain. Now Rockstar hasn't made a comment on all of this but there is some investigations into all of it and I have to wonder if they will acknowledge it in the showcase next week but I am sure we will find out and will be a case of what else will occour of all of this overtime and I will try and update if anything else comes about.
But what do you make of these stories, do you see Bautista being a solid choice for Kratos, how big a role will Coleman and Capaldi have in this Only Murders season and when do you expect to see it, will you be playing either of these 2 FNAF titles or going to the new restaurant and what are your opinions about this massive leak of the GTA title and will this be a major affect on the game and will any of these demands be met from their manifest or even it being a massive ploy by Rockstar. Let me know what you think down below.
And with all of that, this brings us to the end of the 182nd edition of Weird Mind News Room and I hope this episode will escape out to the ether for all to see and to hear my ramblings that the corporation is trying to hide from us. If it does let me know your thoughts on all discussed down below and I hope this will be a one off thing and will escape to tell another episode soon but for now I will see you soon :)
Take Care, keep being you, signing off
Sam H :)
